In deference to those who have genuine and honest problems with list threads, I've decided to do something a little different.

Starting today, I'm going to pick a person or two who have caught my attention in whatever good way and I'm going to point them out in their very own thread. I'm going to try to do this every couple of days, though I might get on a roll and do it every day.

It may only be a little small thing. It may be a big thing. That's not important. What it is is a genuine appreciation about something delightful I've seen in someone else.

It's my way of praising the good things I see in someone right out in the open, where everyone can see it and maybe even chime in. It's a thread to celebrate that person for that day, or however long the love-fest continues.

It's my opinion that there's not nearly enough kindness in the world. We get our ass kicked, each one of us, on a daily basis. There's no real reason we can't find a little kindness here. It might just make a shitty day a little more bearable.

Saccarine-sappy sweet? You bet. Hokey as hell? Absolutely. Do I care? Nah.

There are, indeed, a lot of LIT folks that I also feel brighten up the days and nights. I've learned quite a lot from many of them too. Thanks for something quite positive to look forward to, and I hope you realize you're one of the bright spots on the board as well!

Now let me say that I don't have to be the only one to do this. If during the course of a day someone just kind of brightens it with a word, or posts something that strikes you as just damned brilliant, then say so! Open up a thread, stick their name on it, and tell them what they've done. Don't limit yourself to folks you know well, or even know at all. You may inadvertently make a new friend by doing so.

This thing just might get infectious!
