Sometimes that inner voice is not you. Sometimes that inner voice is the echo of a frustrated parent or an idividual unaware that a failed attempt at life's goals were only minutes from the finish line. Sometimes that inner voice is the unhappy voice of someone else.

Your true inner voice is your friend. Your true inner voice should tell you that anything is possible should you believe in yourself.

Listen for the voice that most sounds like you.

My inner voice converses with the dog...

I wish it would tell the little bitch to stop eating my pepper plants!

... my inner voice is out to communize me.

 mine too!

Except that my dog was trying to get me to kill certain people. And then, I figured out the little SOB was deranged!

Do you think?

My dog is a vegan!

First the corn, then the peppers, and now I'm worried about the bamboo...

...but my inner voice keeps telling me, "Be patient. Dog tastes better in the winter. And it'll be corn-fed dog!"

They can be a bit gamey...make sure you marinade...

I can see that this thread is taking a whole new path...

Famous Okinawan Poem (to karateka).

At the bottom of the mountain are many guides pointing out many paths.
All paths lead to the top.

...or some similar variation. Just to return full circle, so to speak.

Actually...most of the time my inner voice is right. It is only when I start listening to those around me that I get of course. ie: you are being negative, paranoid, etc., etc., etc. Amazing that each and everytime I've listened to this advice I was right in the first place and have gotten hurt as a result of second guessing myself.

Nobody knows me as well as me.

It is easier to listen to the friendly inner voice than to actually DO what it suggests. Sometimes misery likes company so listening to the echos haunting and torturing is more comfortable than the reality of normality.

As long as we don't get too lost in that inner world.

In my case, my inner voice is never wrong. The only times in my life when I've really screwed up is when I haven't listened to it.

Soooooo.....I've learned to listen to it.

Beautiful. You know, I admire you so much.

I wish I had listened to her a long time ago, she was telling me what I needed to hear but I ignored her.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. My inner voice is right most of the time. But when it's saying something that I don't want to hear, I put my fingers in my ears and sing, "LA LA LA LA LA LA".....very loudly. It's my prerogative to ignore the voice of reason......a right I exercise frequently.
