If you confiscated the wealth of every millionaire in America, roughly 3 Trillion Dollars, you'd collect enough money to pay our budget deficit for 2 years. Its much easier to print $10,000 of paper money for every American, to get the same amount. And thats how the government does it.
Don't you remember the simple little money puzzle from grade school? Would you rather have a million dollars now or start with a penny and have your total doubled every day for thirty days?
No one is proposing we take all of everyone's money. The government gets more when they take a small percentage every year. The hope is that someone's earning potential grows and the government gets more money then the previous year.
With raises flat, high unemployment, underemployment and the continued increase in product, the government doesn't get more like they anticipate but they continue to spend more.
The four top subsidized industries are financial, utilities, tele-communications, and oil, gas & pipelines. 56%. The top subsidized crops are corn, cotton, rice, wheat and soybeans. "Those payments go out, regardless of need, and they mostly fail to help the nation’s real working farm and ranch families. In fact, since 1995, just 10 percent of subsidized farms – the largest and wealthiest operations – have raked in 74 percent of all subsidy payments. 62 percent of farms in the United States did not collect subsidy payments, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture."
It's how we (the government)spends our money. The wealthy get more, if you are a wage slave, you don't get breaks.
Those "with" forget they lose if the wage slaves don't buy their products and they have to be paid a decent wage in order to do that. Mortgage, a decent car and a nice vacation a year and enough money to save for retirement, medical benefits and our children's college educations.
Keep us masses happy and we'll stay off your backs.
