Christmas went... alright. Kids frazzeled me to the very wits end, but overall, it was a good christmas. Just to long away from home.

I went into labor for my son on Christmas evening about 6pm. He had to be taken Cesarian, so he wasn't born until Dec 26th because the surgeon had been to a Christmas party, and he wasn't sober enough to operate!

Ok, well, no pains yet, so I doubt it will be today, as there is only 1 hr and 15 minutes left.

I believe either tomorrow night or thursday night, I get the pitocin. It depends on when my doc is on-call. He goes to 3 offices total, and he is only in my office in the morning tomorrow, so he won't likely be able to do it himself until at least tomorrow night, but that will depend on which of the two are on-call. I would prefer to keep my own.

I keep telling everyone that at this rate, we are looking around Valentines Day, 15 pounds, 12 ounces. And they think I am joking. How cute.

Not even a 2001 tax deduction is worth pitocin. What, do you have a male doctor or what? That whole induced labor thing is sort of... a crock, speaking as one who then handled the husband-duty for an inductee. Even if you get to the point that you feel something must be done there is just BOUND to be a better alternative than that damn pitocin. Oh sure, it makes it possible for a mouse to give birth to an infant elephant, but ask yourself this: Can that be good?

OK, I am not saying any more, let the ladies talk about the pros can cons, I've already said more than I should.

Good luck Gilly, but please get up and walk and if the idea doesn't freak you out a little intercourse is a way more pleasant form of inducing labor.

At a quick Guess, PowerOfSuggestion, I was likely doing my taxes based on what I've gathered of your daughter's age. Were you subjected to the infamous pitocin, or merely wishing you'd gotten in some quality lovin'? I'm not clear on what we need to pretend, but willing to side-track a thread in the name of research...
