My shrink said she won't recommend hormones just yet, but told me to buy them online. Yeah, I don't get it either. But anyway I bought them from a reputable source. I've been taking 4mg estradiol for three days.

So far I don't feel anything at all, and it's adding to my already overwhelming depression. Does it just take a week or so to start? Will I know when it starts working? I've waited so long...

I'm already on 150mg spironolactone, and I'm going to the doctor next week.

Three days isn't enough. All medications require a certain amount of time before it builds up in the blood stream. My gyn when he started me on birthcontrol said to wait a month at least before having unprotected sex. This was when I was still adamant I was 'straight." Give it time!

congrats i guess. just be careful temp we all care about you here.

*sigh*
Waiting is all I ever seem to do...

At least I know the spiro is working. My skin feels a bit softer, and facial hair growth has slowed. Even the slightest beginnings of breast growth. The dizziness/vision loss spells are annoying though...

I want the emotional effects of estrogen so bad! I don't know how, but I've felt them before, and I miss them.

I took anti androgens and estrogen for over a year and a half. I bought them online too. I love buying stuff online you cant beat it for conveinance.
The dizziness and hot flashes were a bit to contend with, plus I had to pee like every couple hours. I was ecstatic when I began lactating and could see breast and nipple growth. In time my taste in music completely changed, I developed some new mannerisms, I also started doing laundry, cooking and washing dishes and I enjoy it. Hope you will enjoy the experience too. :)

Studies in Europe do indicate that personality changes do occur in Males on Female hormones and in Females on Male hormones. The men do become more female like in behavior. I have noticed a difference in myself. For one I am more passive in situations that used to provoke a stronger aggressive impulse. I am more of a romantic(if anyone can believe that). Strangely I am less focused on me and have more of a general awareness of the people around me and their emotional states.
I am a better Mom...er....Dad too...Mom? Laughing it gets a little confusing sometimes.

Curiously enough, after being on spiro for three months, when reading something I find myself assuming the author/subject is female. I previously didn't assume either way.

Do you remember how long it took to feel anything? One other girl I talked to said a month. I really want to feel something. I don't know how, but I've felt it before. It was wonderful...

well glad to see you around again temp.

i don't think its something you really feel it just happens and as time goes you adjust without even knowing at least thats my understanding of things.

For me it was the Estrogens that had the greatest impact.

Temp, if I may offer a suggestion? Go to webmd.com and research the hormones you're on. They'll be able to give you all sorts of information as to how long things take on that sort of dose, etc. They offer a lot of information over a great many things as far as medical things are concerned. Maybe this will help you as far as knowing how long it takes for certain things to begin.

I see my doctor in two days. He'll give me a much better idea of when to expect changes and what dosage to take. He's been monitoring my hormone levels too.
