I'm still not buying it. As a hardcore reader of the original comic I have to say this guy still looks soft. I'm pissed off at the way the movie and the cartoons seem to take the best characters and turn them into wimps. Rogue has always been a bad ass, walking a thin line between the X-Men and the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. Nightcrawler was a swashbuckling, hard drinking, ladies man; far from the confused bumbler he's been portrayed as recently.
I've got my fingers crossed that the second film will be better.

Though I doubt it'll be brought up, I'd like them to at least drop hints about NC's and Mystiques family ties.

I haven't read an X-Men comic in years...not since the Fall of the Mutants. But of all the original X-Men, NightCrawler had the most depth in my opinion. Yet he was a secondary character for the most part. I'm just glad to see him finally make an appearance, even though he was one of the first 3 original X-Men.

did you get the wizard x~men special?
it' prett good..give a run down on future x~comics and projects for the next year or so.

No, he wasn't.
In the official 2nd group, debuting in Giant Size X-Men #1, sure.
But original X-men, we're talking Beast, Cyc, Marvel Girl, Iceman, and Angel.

Jean Gray used to be Marvel Girl right? I used to have the Phoenix Saga in an graphic novel. That was one of the best storylines I remember.
You are right, NC wasn't in the original group. And I had forgotten all about Angel.

I haven't really read the comic since the Fall of the Mutants storyline either, but the Dark Pheonix and Brood storylines were a couple of the best. Doubt we'll ever see those on the big screen.

I remember seeing an animated version of the Dark Phoenix a few years ago. It was in a hobby shop, and they had it on VHS. Anyone else know of this?
