Think about this.

Would you want to know all those who were posting negative comments about other members?

Would you want there to be some voting where a set number of people could request such info and then once we reach that number the "assailants" name would be revealed?

What would you do if you found out that person using the new nick was a well known and liked Litster?

Would knowing ultimately stop the attacks?

Most of all, would the Lit society become so nicey nice that it would become as fake, unreal and politically correct a society that you would become bored by such tranquil happiness?

My opinions as if they matter to anyone but me...

...so just for my own fun I will post them.

My answer is, let Laurel know who they are. Don't sensor us for this one exception, it would just lead to another reason to sensor us and reveal the real people behind the nicks. Sensorship of any kind is a judgment call that somehow violates us all eventually.

I remember long ago when I couldn't wait to jump into a thread and defend the honor of the latest attack. Whether I personally knew more about the victim or the attacker, I would always feel the need to defend the "innocent".

After a couple of years here, I have found that there are so many different reasons why people seem to be attacked here. And choosing which battle to wage war on seems to be so tricky that it is not worth my time anymore.

Many of us have jumped to defend virtues of so many. We have all defended a number of people we liked from being called sluts, tramps, whore, assholes, dicks, and etc.

Sitting back and wondering about all those fights, I see that some of those who have been victims have caused their own pains by their repeated actions of acting the slut or tramp or ass...

I know we have so many people here who are just good people who become victims for no real reason, but too many later turned out to be victims of their own doing.

I just stay away from the battlegrounds now.

I don't click the threads that I can tell are vicious, and I try and ignore who is threatening and harrassing who.

Because this is a "free speech" board, we will probably never find out who this asshole or any of the others are. That's sad because it's driving people who are liked here, away.

I will not be posting under my usual name because there are too many here who are assholes in private and kissy kissy in public.

Lit is no fun anymore & many friendly people aren't friendly anymore like they want you to think they are. The public fights that seemingly are just for show sometimes. The probably fake make-up messages. The using of personal and often wrong information against people is all bullshit.

More people here at Lit are willing to hurt people that were thought to be friends by the "victims", because it's better to lose one person than the many who adore you.

Maybe people would rather not get anything real out of their friendships here, and that's too bad for them. There are plenty of nice posters here on Lit, but not enough to stick around for.

Laurel & Manu I'd guess are the only ones (legally) with access to the I.P. addresses for each and every poster here at Lit. The day they start using any info on posters against them, is the day the board will sink into oblivion.

I'd like to know if the assholes are regular users just fucking with me and others but I never will know for sure. I can only assume.

Yes, it's not fun when you just talk around them. While a strict quarantine cannot be maintained, eventually they run a course and then thereafter one must suffer periodic outbreaks.

I agree with so much of what you said. AND I don't intend to flame you for posting anonymously. You are so right about being attacked just for giving your real opinion on this board sometimes.
(sad that you have to do so, but someone would have flamed you for your opinion eventually even if they had to do it as an anonymous person had you used your real nick)

I hope The King and Queen of Lit will never reveal what they know and about who the know it. It would make this place no better than a Communist community if they did.

We have boundaries. Look at the bottom of the link - under "Forum Guidelines".

The problem here isn't rules or lack thereof. The problem is that people claim to dislike trolls, then spend all their time playing with them. And it is playing - because the trolls want nothing more than for people to argue with them, tell them how wrong they are, and start threads about them.

People need to learn self-control. If you make it fun for trolls to be here, if you give them all sorts of attention, then bitch because the board is overrun with trolls, it's very hard for me to feel sorry for you. I've intervened when rules have been broken, but I'm a little sick of the people complaining about trolls while at the same time encouraging them to be here.

You don't want trolls here? Ignore them. Put them on your Ignore list if you're unable to prevent yourself from responding. If you're going to argue with them, don't whine about their existence. You're the reason they stay here.

Trolls don't bother me because I know that they're just morons typing words to get a reaction.
