I would assume it would be worse than for a het couple. The wife's experiences with her mother in law are usually more combative than a husband's experiences with his. Put that together with the fact that a lot of parents seem to be more protective of their daughters than their sons (as though we need the extra help) and I'd say the evil mother in law phenomenon is just made for lesbian marraiges.

Make it known that its easier for her to travel as an adult than the two of you with a baby! They dont get that, until they babysit and you make a point of forgetting half the stuff you really need for the baby, just to show them how much it takes to look after this new little life.
