Hi all

Can I have your opinion please?

In an essay I posted today in which, among other things, I mused over the general whiteness of Literotica's Lesbian section, somebody posted this comment:

No such thing as "too white". ;)

Now, generally, being a supporter of free speech and all that, I wouldn't delete a comment (the only time I've done it is when comments have been duplicated). But this one has me itching for the trashcan icon...

But on the other hand, it's very existence there in the comments section also kind of makes my argument for me, in a way? Doesn't it?

Thoughts please!

Reply with QED. Then it's almost like performance art.
But if you delete it, I'd say do it soon, to minimize the chances of your comment board turning into a battleground.

At best it's a flippant joke that adds nothing to the discussion; I'd delete just to avoid the annoyance of it being there.

I don't know. I'm not excusing the comment or trying to justify it, especially if it offends someone. I'm just being pragmatic about it.

Can you get into the head of the person who posted the comment or are you simply assigning a racist agenda to it due to the perceived context?

If it was made by a woman of color intending to express her fetish for white women, does it have the same racist overtones?

If a similar comment was left on one of my stories (and there have been some in the past), since it is obviously not from me, I would leave it and let my other readers deal with/ignore it as they saw fit.
