Writing Goal for the Day?

I find GB is less toxic than this board, and no one whines to Laurel.

I started a new horror tale. Old Southern town overrun with middleclass Yankees and Darkies. Bored teens pay a visit to the Old Episcopal Cemetery and unleash a ghostly scourge upon the newcomers. The Sexton is supposed to secure the cemetery from vagrants and vandals but these people need a sanctuary for their drugs and beer and sex, and the homeless shelters dont allow it.

I'm going to work more on my horror tale and maybe I'll get around to starting the Incest story that is sitting on the edge of my mind. :)

Thanks, I've not started yet, hoping to later today. Right now my mind is full of real life chaos and it's hard to think. lol

I wish you luck for coming up with something to do. :rose:

Here's hoping the chaos settles down. :) I have plenty to do, plenty of stories and writing-related stuff to work on. My continual problem is finding time to work on it.

I have plenty of time: Spawn is hosting a Wii tournament. He asked me politely to stay at Starbucks after work, get some writing done. It's not because he wants to "Practice his smooth moves," it's because he does NOT want to share the food he's ordered!! Found a deli that will deliver to the house.

I find the GB much more humorous than here. I also find that amongst the goofiness over there, the average GB member is a lot more eloquent and well read than a couple of the alleged educated geniuses we have over here.

And no, they do not whine to Laurel or the mods like one individual does all the time over here.

The only drawback to the GB is the power they have to troll. That's why when I started writing here, I created the Lovecraft68 ID so no one in the GB would flame my work.

The alt is a work of art over there and hilarious. A few months ago I was arguing with myself over there and no one caught on.

Okay, I just have to say it somewhere: Caps won! Woo hoo!

Sorry, just had to get that out...

I suspect the GB has like 3 members total, not counting alts.

On the writing front I have struck gold on solving the problem of getting my novel edited.

A friend of my wife's daughter just moved back to RI from New York, where before she quit to pursue another career she worked as an editor for Simon and Schuster.

Not sure on the fee yet, but it has to be less than the insane prices I got from a couple of places I found on the net. But I'm not cheap and I'm excited that this thing will look good for when I publish it on Amazon

Looks like this thread needs a bump. Wrote a new opening for a scene on paper this morning, now just need to get it on screen. The ending of this story is really giving me some fits.

I had plans to write some fiction today, but it's just too damned nice out. I don't have Attention Def...oooo look at the pretty sunshine.

I've decided to devote today's efforts toward getting a little desktop publishing done. Now, if I can only find some place nearby that sells stencil sheets for my mimeograph machine.

You might try the Smith-Corona kiosk at your local drive-in theater.

There are some in a closet at my son's school, saw them last week when I was substituting in the computer lab.

Researching Lignum Vitae, of the IRONWOOD class of lumber. I read that the wood was used to make propeller-shaft bearings on ships many years ago. I read, too, that it wont float. My protagonist needs a stout walking cane.

Thread needs a bump. Haven't really had a goal, although I've rewritten parts of a story that just weren't working. I hope I'm on the right track now, or a righter track.

I'm steeped in mainstream book edits. I should have an anthology launching tomorrow, though--and then a novella as soon as I can manage to do the last review on it.

Putting the finishing touches on chapter 3, and launching into the next full throttle. I'd say "only 7 left to go" but given how much longer the current work is than the previous, there's too much more of a climb to get enthused over the progress so far.

Making my third attempt at writing the chapter where Gillian comes out and tells her son she's a lesbian. I can get so far and then it starts sounding unrealistic. It's hard imagining what it would really be like, having to open up and then have to deal with the repercussions that follow.

Something will click soon enough. till then, I'll keep at it until the right words come out.;)

Happy writing. :)

With any luck I will finish performing reconstructive surgery on the chapter that I amputated from my last story. After that, I need to come up with a title.

Trying to finish a first draft on a new exhibitionist story today - co-workers watching each other masturbate. With any luck, I'll finish the draft, the rewrite, and submission all today.

I've sent a fast paced Incest story off to one pair of eyes, and hopefully will get it back later today. I had my 398 submission under RedHairedandFriendly approved this morning, so that was nice. :) My personal goals for the Survivor contest are slowly coming to fruition and I find that rewarding too as well as the number 400. :D My writing goal today is to answer 3 SRPs as well as start on something for the Lesbian category and get back to part three of my novel.

Going for round 4 with this chapter. One tough contender to beat. So many variables to work out, but it's coming together.
