I'm working on co-writing Kismet with VM, so when he gets it back to me, I'll finish out that chapter. I'm also working on a new BDSM story. I've been neglectful the last couple weeks on writing, so I figure it's time to get my act back together. My Survivor goals won't write itself.

Yeah, but that is the hypocrisy of fiction vs. erotica

In fiction everything from under age gang bangs to cannibalism, to incest and fucking dogs can be used. Serial killers can rape and torture victims in graphic detail and its okay it's "Titillating"

But not so in erotica, in erotica under age is forbidden as is incest and other things. One way or another its all fiction, but America runs on hypocrisy so for whatever reason we have to pretend that no one is getting off sexually on anything in a mainstream work of fiction.

Well, my 296-word flash fiction story won honorable mention yesterday, not bad for something I wrote and entered within an hour. Two judges emailed me, told me the story deserves some consideration of being expanded, and that's what I'll work on, background information and such.

Thanks, beatrice. It's not so bad. Worst part was last night, when PennGirl woke up at midnight or so and didn't go to sleep again until 3am. Sigh. On the other hand, she did sleep -- and hence so did I -- until after 9:30am when she finally went to sleep.

I don't feel too bad, just congested and going through what feels like a record amount of tissues. Can't say I feel like doing too much productive. And with Mr Penn working, I've got the kids so that kind of takes writing off the table. Oh well, it can't last too long, and at least PennGirl's been in far better spirits today than she was last night.

Crossing some fingers here...I think I might have finally found my way through the interrupted very-important-concluding-peak-of-the-story-love-scene which has been driving me *nuts* for weeks. I must have back-tracked and rewritten at least 3 or 4 times.

Funny how you can write some bits back to front (how does that happen?) and an ol' copy and paste can help untangle it all.

Let's hope I haven't just jinxed it. If not, we might have a final chapter ready for week after next!

I know that feeling, Red. Too many things all wanting your attention at the same time. Writing multiple stories at the same time can stretch the imagination and hinder the creative flow, so I stick with one story and continually add notes to the others and get them out of the way of what I'm working on.

This is a novella series and I wrote a seque into this one from the last, already published one. And now when I look at the notes, I see that, although I want to write that book, this isn't the series I want to write it into (the chronology is all off). So, I've had to rethink what plotline can flow from what I already committed to in the previous book. I'm a 1,000 words into it now, though, so the worst of the "recast" agony should be over.

I have a similar issue. The SWB series ties in with the BDSM project but the BDSM predates SWB so I have to sit and work out ages and timelines and a bunch of other shit or they won't tie in properly. I think in one instance I may have written myself in to a box with no way out.

But I was going to try to give it to a set of characters from a much later era. So, now I have to play off of 40 years after the Vietnam War and change a lot of the plot elements. And to change even more of them, because I still want to write the other plotline. I'll just have to give it to a different pen name and different set of established series characters.

Yes, that is what I'm hoping to do now. I'm focusing on one and as soon as I get Kismet back, I'll put the one away and finish Kismet, then move back. I think I was spreading myself to thin again and I don't like that. So it's time to reign in and get back in line.

So you are going to take this "continuity", scrap it from the original story arc, and give it a fresh start somewhere else that does not have a history it has to adhere to? Is that what you're saying?

No, I'm not saying that. When I checked the notes, I found they were written to a set of characters of the series under a different pen names. I'll just give it back to that pen name author.

That falls in with your second paragraph, though. Peter's gotten back what once was his. I'll just have two books with some similar elements in them--but using those elements differently.

Got it. Unfortunately not an option for me. I am going to have to rely on thirty years of marvel comics ability to somehow manage to juggle anything to fit into the right time line.

Or watch a bunch of Day of our lives episodes. when ever there was a problem someone turned out to be a clone created by Victor Kiriakis.
