Writing Goal for the Day?

Watched very old vids of Leonard Bernstein explaining Beethoven. Bernstein had a genius for fathoming the Old Masters and making their work seem simple and obvious. And Beethoven's compositions were simple and crude, taken one component at a time. But taken as a whole, Bernstein goes on to say, Beethoven's music is so perfect it seems to have been phoned in to Ludwig by God. Every note is the perfect next step in the musical journey.

Yeah, I could have guessed you'd be sitting and letting something someone else did run by you rather than any production yourself. Or did you miss that this thread is about personal writing goals?

Ten minutes is a coffee break :) Hopefully with the long weekend you'll get something Syd.

Exactly!

Where ya goin'? Vacation, family gathering, vacation and family gathering, or none of the above?

And I understand your point. Quantity does not equal quality. It's a concept that many seem to not understand.

Find a coffee shop, especially if your parents are the hovering type. It was the only way I got anything done for either RL or lit writing this past week, since an open laptop seems to send an "I'm not busy, please stop by and chat or ask for my help" signal to my mother.

Visiting my brother and his wife, and going to a football game. Should be fun.

And yeah, I have that problem with my whole family. I swear, they are tagging each other in the hallway -- Ok! She's mildly annoyed. You're up, see if you can make her head explode now!

Watching "Say Anything" is putting a crimp in writing. Then again, we were out all day, and I did a lot of crocheting in the car, which tired out my arms...

No writing today, but much was accomplished.

1. Cover made for F/f story. "Second Chance at Love" which should be released through Amazon/Barnes&Noble/Smashwords on October 1, 2011.

2. Cover made for "What Reviewers Want." and this will be released on November 1, 2011.

3. Should start final edits on Second Chance next week, then will finish up formats for Kindle, Smashwords and B&N. Then to start promoting it fully.

4. In a few weeks, I'll do this all over again with the Reviewer's Guide.

I'm surprised you miss the connection tween writing and music. I mean you just gotta wonder how they fit them lyrics in (I know!).

I'm not surprised you miss the difference between doing and just letting it drift by you. :D

Got the last paragraph of Ch 4 of "A New Birth of Freedom" in my head. Now to get to that point on paper....

Started a new Sci-Fi story today. The Imagination Factory is up and running again. :D

Youre mind reading again, and unarmed like the last time you tried it.

Yeah, I didn't think you had an answer for me either.

It's really quite simple. On a thread about the actual process of writing daily, all you can offer up is listening to music. There's no mind reading from that--it's pointing out to you what you actually posted.

This is me Tuesday...visiting my sister breast feeding a newborn....my brother in law shooting randomness my way...ugh! But so much fun.

Loyd Dobler is my ultimate crush. No kidding. I want a man to hold a boombox outside of my door with Peter Gabriel. One can dream for an 80's crush, yes!?

The second I saw this I knew (without google) that that was John Cusack and Ioni Skye.

I am deeply ashamed of myself.

Lloyd Dobler is acceptable. Blane McDonough from Pretty in Pink? Not so much. (Ditto for the dress.)

I had a phase where I thought Ally Sheedy was hot. Never a Molly Ringwold fan however. All I could think of when I saw her was Facts of life. Speaking of which I also had a brief "Blair" crush.

I found myself wondering what they would change or update if they re-did this movie today, and a guy with an iPod holding up ear buds just wouldn't have the same effect.

If it helps, you misspelled her name. It's Ione. ;) Now, can you name the actor who played her father?

Lloyd is just so cute. Blane was a jerk.

All the same, a wee bit of writing got done. But now I have to go see if I have any fiberfill left... making a little toy for the little girl. Seriously, the crocheting is a lot harder on my arms/hands these days. sigh.

Happy to say I cannot. I don't know why, but the one thing I remember about the movie, besides he was a kickboxer was the scene where he and some guys are hanging out drinking behind a store lamenting about women and some little kid says "bitches man!"

Wow, y'all are really, really old! I don't think I saw "Say Anything."

That is a funny scene. That movie is full of great scenes.

The father was John Mahoney, who later played Frasier's dad. Don't need to be embarrassed about knowing him. ;)

And lc, this is for you. I shall never fear Cthulu again.

How ignominious!

However, nothing compared to some of the ones that I saw in the catalogs when I still had the store.

They have one where he as an overcoat. They say he is supposed to be a secret agent. I think though that he is a flasher who wants to expose his tentacles!

Thanks for the laugh!

Today I'm going to finish a bunch of book reviews I have to do and then hopefully finish the chapter of Holly that I've posted that I would finish several times here already...sheesh!!!!

How one man can have a permanent rictus and shed crocodile tears at the same time blows my mind. Youre the perfect blend of Bill Clinton and Glenn Beck.

And you're being nonsensical and silly. You're in a corner and can only try to say "look over there!" to distract from your irrelevant posts.
