Writing Goal for the Day?

Have a Great Day PennLady!!

My wife and son LOVE to celebrate my birthday with dinner out, only because it falls on National Cheesecake Day..and the Cheesecake Factory has 1/2 price slices of cheesecake, plus other deals - helps that the management of the local one will give us discounts :)

Speaking of national days. I understand that National Squirrel Appreciation Day was last Saturday--and we seemed to have missed celebrating it.

Thank you. :) And hey, lucky you for cheesecake day. Mine's just Jan 24 and coincides with something like Stalin's death, so I'll just go for the nice meal out. :)

It did not go unnoticed in the media: http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs...for-sciuridae/2012/01/20/gIQABngFEQ_blog.html

I've got one of the ones I've been playing with almost done, as long as I get an email answer back tonight I could get it finished, and read through before sending it out for someone else to read over.

I've written a lot of sex today, more than I usually do.

I've also researched more about the topic being covered in my new topic thread, which some of you folks have contributed to, thanks for that. :)

Due to unforeseen events, all writing is cancelled until further notice. I'm having the pleasure of feeling the severed nerves re-connect again. If no one has had this happen, it's just like being shot with electricity. Damn those micro-volts are a bastard. Frickin leg is twitching like crazy and nothing I can do to stop it. Despite the excruciating pain, I'm very happy inside. It means I'm healing more and regaining further use of my leg. Holy shit, I think I'm going to really walk again like I used to. :D:D:D
See you all soon.:)

Two books arrived in the mail, both treat the subject of violence in detail. Both writers are experts on violence.

I strive for authenticity in my writing, and wanna get the details right, cuz the details suck you in the story.

I'm the same Jimmy. I spent hundreds of hours reading and looking online for facts about the era I'm writing in. Movies are the worst for factual representation, nothing but Hollywoodism.
I actually enjoyed reading the Clan of the Cave Bear series by Jean M. Auel. In as much as it was a 'romance' story between Ayla and Jondular, it presented significant events and details about the time period.

Yep. I mine 19th Century periodicals for bizarre but real incidents.

When I started writing BotC, I had the story outline and plots all figured out. When I started doing research of the clans and events, real life stories made mine pale in comparrison. The saying, Truth is stranger than fiction, rang true in so many ways. I changed over 40% of the story and the plot, just to bring a true sense of reality to it. The more I delved into it, I was almost ready to scrap a fictional piece and write a factual account instead.
As it is, 80% is based on real people and events and the rest is my fictionalization of what happened. Like it was said before, I couldn't make up stuff like this, it's so far-fetched, but it happened and that's what I drew upon to keep the reader excited.

SA PennLady, Happy Birthday! Many many many more happy ones!:rose::rose::rose:

PennLady,

Hippo Birdy Two Ewes!

Thanks very much. :) And now back to the usual...

I'm glad it's good news, lance. Hope you keep making progress.

Real Life is like that. Its as bizarre as can be and coated with a thin veneer of BS.

Wrote a Christmas story today (yep, Christmas). It wasn't in my writing goal plans, but so far that's what I've done (as far as writing production).

Good news for sure. :)

I pulled an unfinished piece from the junk folder last night. Today I've been editing as well as adding to what I had in hopes of making it become what I originally envisioned--only better. ;)

Interesting, I wrote a Christmas piece as well last week. I think I'm going to sit on it to guarantee I have a winter contest entry this year.

I also wrote part of a Halloween story.

What sucks is it was as I was supposed to be trying to complete my Valentines entry, my seasonal clock must be off.
