Writing Goal for the Day?

Yeah. It's 5-6 hours by car from Boston to Bar Harbor, just south of Washington County. I'm guessing it was 7-8 to wherever you were going from Providence.

Geez, it's not inbreeding. It's poverty, and, perhaps, meth; Washington County is the poorest county in the state, and, like many poor, rural places, it has a serious lack of health and dental care, and some drug problems.

[Moreover, unlike poor, rural places in the south that have historically attracted massive policy attention and activism for health care and drugs, poor, rural places in the north are often overlooked; poverty attention in the north is aimed at cities.]

But it's no accident David Shipler, in his book The Working Poor: Invisible in America, chose a toothless woman in Maine (or maybe NH? same thing) as his example of the cycle of poor, rural, northern poverty. It's been a while since I read it, but I think she worked at a Wal-Mart, found it nearly impossible to heat her house on her income, and had no teeth.

My father was from a poor, rural county in New York, one that was devistated by Hurricanes Irene and Lee. They need health care and drug help.

I am stuck on a bus in the dark with a low batter on my phone. So my goal is to dream up in my head an urban fantasy story that looks like sci fi but isn't about a slave cast on the colonies on lunar_1 (one of the three moons of a planet in another solar system)

Submitted Ch 6, wrapped some presents, finished the pink triceratops. Goals for today include cookies, more wrapping, attempting to acquire roller skates for PennGirl, a hockey game and making a red dinosaur. Somewhere in there, perhaps some writing. Right, sure.

Today's goal is to get something in the netbook, length is not important. I am currently in a sugar rush from a Very Berry bagel...

Working on more sexy sweet smut. I added another 3300 + words to my story this morning, so I'm done for now, gonna russel up a quick lunch and toy with the Wii, before slipping back into "sex" mode.

Kinky selection for a toy. I didn't know Wii had come out with that line of games yet. :D

6600 words to the good so far today. The goal is to finish a fun to write fluff story and get two others edited to post.

I played Tetris, thank you very much. :p ;)

Though with some assitance I'm sure I could be persuaded to play something else.

Please tell me the shopping is done... I went out last night and geez... anyway, I think it was successful, I'm just tired of going to stores. Did crochet half a dinosaur last night though. Now I need to wrap gifts, which is always fun with PennGirl around, since that means there are certain gifts that can't be wrapped in her presence...

I'm thinking the writing may have to happen on the drive to the in-laws on Saturday. Unless I finish the dinosaur tonight, that might help.

I know, Right?

I love Tetris, so these videos are cool, but they don't frighten me.

Agreed :D

I haven't tried Party yet, but I have always liked Splash for the 360.

There was a Nintendo version of called Tetris Worlds, I believe for the N64, that I had a blast with, I know it was on the PS1 for sure. You could probably find it on an emulator?

It was the first version to input challenges while you played, and gave you options like piece series listings on/off, auto drops, and double flips. It also had these crazy little effects like digital bugs flying on the screen, to try and break your stride, or make you miss a t-spin.

I scored a pretty slick PC version, real small and simple but with nice graphics, freeware, that lets you upload your own .mp3s and/or playlists and it lets you bind any controller you can connect to a PC :D

Beats the hell out of pong and FPSs.

Woohoo! After struggling with the story and having a break-through - I just finished banging out the next 6000 word chapter of my new series, "Loving to Like." While I'm still struggling to avoid novel or novella length material, I'm having fun with these characters and hope that I can finish their story off with one more chapter.... okay, maybe two. Happy writing!

Packing up for the Christmas trip, but I managed a chapter for a Clint Folsom mystery yesterday and may get another one written today. I also got an incest story--written on the basis of a discussion in the Story Discussion forum--back from the editor and submitted to Lit. It should hit by Christmas Eve. Hope so as Christmas is its background.

Tetris Worlds was for the PS, at least that is what I played it on. lol I loved it! And completed every level available to me and after that I traded it out for something else.

There are only a tiny fraction of games I play/played. Tetris being number one, followed by ATV Quad Power Racing 2 (LOVE IT - though it was on Playstation and we don't use that anymore). I am a fan of Mario (now on my Wii) and for a while I played Jurassic Park - I would build this awesome Dinosaur park and after it was going great and managing well on its own, I'd take down all the fences and let the dinosaurs loose. :D The people ran around crazily and dinosaurs would pick them up, tear them limb from limb and eat them. It was fun. :D

Writing today: Probably not much. I'm rounding out the last of the baking ideas for today and possibly tomorrow. Kids will be home until Jan. 3rd, so I'm most likely going to be cross-stitching and if I do get some writing in it'll be early in the morning when they're asleep.

Starting the first re-write today. I Spy is getting torn apart and put back together properly so the weak parts are gone and the story now has dialogue.

I got about 15 minutes in yesterday, and was hoping for the same today . . . but we'll see.

I'm hoping I can write and watch some of the UNC/UT game, but the house doesn't seem to be getting any cleaner, no matter how much I do.

Writing isn't the goal most days. Shutting the fucking muse up long enough to get anything else done usually is.

Got a little tweaking on R&B7 done today. However, priority is making the red dinosaur that I started last night. So if I finish that, perhaps more on R&B.
