Writers: Do you always respond to positive feedback on your stories?

I'm curious. Wouldn't good manners dictate that you do? I think of it as a gift. Somebody has taken the time to respond to something you've written. Shouldn't the writer at least take a moment to respond, even with a simple "thank you?"

Yes. Always.
Period.

Excuse me, please...
~scooting on over to my email box to take care of the one way overdue an answer~

I always do. In fact, be it positive or negative, I'll respond. But the only negative feedbacks that I got were from an email troll.

Always. They were kind enough to take the time to email me I have the time to say thanks! :)

I confess

I havn't always replied for about a year. My only defense is that for the past year I have only been able to check my email around once every 2-3 weeks and for a while only once a month. I have replied when I could and before my circumstances changed I replied always.

If this makes me a rude bitch - so be it.

Positive...negative...

It doesn't matter. If they leave an e-mail for me I'll say a thing or two about their feedback. :)

Yes,always. It just wouldn't be right not to answer after someone had made the effort to contact you.

Yes, I do my very best to respond. The only time I haven't is if they had no return email. Then there is a time or two the return email didn't work.

It is nice to hear what people think of your stories.

If they send me feedback and leave a way for me to respond to them, I always respond. They took their time to write to me and it's not only courtesy to let them know how much I appreciate it, but it's good humanity. I adore the people who read my stuff and when they let me know they read it, good or bad, I let them know I appreciate hearing from them. I believe doing so encourages them to keep sending feedback to authors. Ignoring them does no one any good.

I respond to ANY feedback (good or bad).

It's rare that someone takes the time, no matter how highly you're rated. Obviously - I'd show appreciation for that. (And maybe try to dig deeper into why they felt that way).

(edited because I didn't want to point fingers)

I'm wondering now if sometimes the feedback doesn't get to the authors because of some sort of glitch.

There is somebody on this thread that I indeed wrote very positive comments to their story..

And never heard a word back from them.

It seriously never bothered me..I don't write for that.

But people should realize that if you fib about writing back..
Well, it's a big board with very large eyes.
~smile~

Edited to say that maybe people don't always receive their feedback..which would just suck.
