Help.

I'm a long time contributor to the stpry side for those who don't know.
Used to be active on this forum but been didtracted by health issues. Focused on writing.

Here's my problem.

I have time and urge to write but all my setups seem stale, and I seem to have lost the ability to write realistic sex scenes (I'm medically impotent and haven't had sex in ages).

Any tips to get me writing again?

My dear colleague, firstly I would suggest two things. Look into the stories ideas forum in AH and secondly read some stories about the things, in your imagination, that turn you on.

The next thing I would suggest, as I have to others, is write a story with NO SEX in mind. Get the writing juices flowing without worrying, or putting the pressure on, to have sexual content. When you have the story finished go back over it and see where you might be able to insert some sex into it.

It doesn't have to be a marathon sex-a-thon to begin, just some small inclusions that make the story sexy.

Ease back into it that way and I believe the "urge" to write erotica will return.

Oh I know exactly what she looks like. Her personality? That's coming to me the more i write her.

As for her wardrobe? Well, most times, she's a nudist. Hates clothing, only wears it when forced to.

Just curious; where is this happening? I know stories of this type sometimes depend on "world building." In most real places, public nudity is confined to very specific places. Sometimes in Story Ideas people come up with various nude scenarios. There is a recent on there now.

Okay so in a nutshell: Annej, the character, is a Succubus. Since she appeared in Hell in the earlier stories, she was always naked.

In a later story she comes to Earth with the other characters and they encourage her to wear clothes because public nudity draws to much attention. She reluctantly agrees.

The new story will take place in a mysterious realm she suddenly finds herself in. She was naked at home and so is naked as she wanders these mysterious, fairytale like woods.

Finally got past a writers block on my short story, and how I did it was to stop trying to get into the mc's head. Instead I thought, "If I had a guy with a foot fetish playing with my feet, what would I want him to do? If he managed to get me off with foot play alone, how would I like him to feel?" And then I tried that on for size for both characters in the scene. Then everything fell into place.

I'm in sort of the same boat myself my dear colleague but in a different way. I have two "Jerkers" on the go and they'll be over and done quite easily and quickly. Formula, male meets females, brief setting established, wam-bam thank you ma'am. No problem. Putting down a pure, short story about sexual activity is, I find, relatively easy. It's like watching six porn films that all have the same premise.

No, my "writer's block" is with a longer, more involved tale that needs more "world building" more "characterisation" and more "narrative" + sex. I think, somewhere along the way I painted myself into a corner.

Write something not specifically sex-based? Try your hand at sci-fi or fantasy, go as weird and wild as you want, and see whether any sex scenes unfold naturally. If they don't, it doesn't really matter much in SF&F.

Write a series of stories about a ‘fictional’ guy who is impotent. How did he discover this? Doctors and nurses who tried to help. Unusual cures he tried. His trip to China for acupuncture. A visit to Paris to find romance. He meets an older French woman. And she teaches him new ways to pleasure a woman using his hands and mouth. He takes his pleasure from her pleasure.

Otherwise, write what you want, and when you reach a sex scene, treat it like science. Break it down into steps and use one sentence for each step. Add some adjectives, and be done with it in two paragraphs. Just avoid categories where lots of sex is expected, and don’t worry about scores.

When I first was well enough to write again (after a two year hiatus), my first effort was about a guy who was impotent, but loved cunnilingus. She Tastes Like a Peach. Since then have managed to write multiple stories. Only recently that I hit the wall. Recently tried to revisit the impotence theme and just ended up depressed.

Thanks to all, especially the sci fi suggestion, I am 240 words into a tentacle monster story (still the set up). 200 words is my typical minimum goal for a chunk of writing at one sitting. I've had several false starts longer than that, so we will see where this goes, but at least I have pixels pulsating on the screen (and Violet's pussy throbbing). Now to figure out how to get the tentacle monster to rise up out of the drain...

I stole that for the story. Not that it worked, but that Violet thought of it. Violet has quite the imagination. just have to get to the tentacle fucking.

Noooo... take the old Godzilla movies, radioactive cooling water leaks into the sewers from a nearby nuke plant, kind of like Godzilla vs. The Octopopussy...!!! Set the story in Neo-Tokyo in 2076 or so and make it a Cyberpunk tale (I've got a complete Cyberpunk glossary that I can share)

It could even become a Japanese Hentai porn movie, no?
