Write a controversial opinion

Controversial opinion I heard repeatedly from locals in Las Vegas; Las Vegas was better when the Mafia ran it, the CEOs/MBAs/oligarchs have ruined it.
You'll find something similar in many big cities. New York ran better when Tammany Hall ran it. Chicago ran better when the Daley machine was in charge. Then the reformers came in and things started to fall apart.

The Queen's Gambit - 2020
The Diplomat - 2023
The Tourist - 2022

Of course, what's  good is subjective, but these are all really good and worth the time to watch, in my opinion.

Honorable mentions to Killing Eve, and Orphan Black.
Chernobyl was good. I'll nominate:

The Expanse - 2015-22
Derry Girls - 2018-22, comedy about growing up in NI during the Troubles.
Slow Horses - 2022 to present, each series is only six episodes so not a huge commitment
Good Omens - at least the first series which follows the book. The second is a buildup to the third which now is unlikely to happen

Dept.Q for its characterisation and script, which supports a slightly slow plot. More of a what, how and whydunnit than a whodunnit.

Possibly controversial: some of the best TV drama recently has been from travel shows that were meant to be comedy or 'reality' - Romesh's Misadventures in Sarajevo or Uganda, or Race Across the World faced with a general strike or political upheaval causing them to reroute the contestants for their safety.

The Queens Gambit and The Diplomat, absolutely. Haven't seen the tourist. But my wife and love the other two.

"New Wave" feminism is certainly on life support.
Is it that, or is it new wave male victimhood, whining, and laziness is the issue but as always women are blamed?

"Men" say "Yeah, they say they don't need a man haha!"

reality: Are there any worth needing?

Very few. Forum is case in point.

There's nothing to discuss in that thread. It's a dictionary entry.
No, it brings up a potential discussion of why do people get it wrong, why is it acceptable, how did it get that way. Another example of an original word being morphed into another, etc.

But even if its a 'dictionary thread' all that's in there are jokes.

Unless you have certain status here, no thread is taken seriously.

There are only three true Star Wars movies, the first three and fuck you they're 4-6, all that 1-3 BS was a Lucas cash grab

The final three were an absolute abomination that like most modern cinema seemed hellbent on crapping on the originals that are the only reason for their existence.

Medicine is about treating. That's where the money is.

If they heal you, they can't bill you any more.

They don't want to heal you, so they keep practicing.

Working more than 16 hours in a day should be double time illegal
In an ideal world, lol.

But, yeah, a coworker came in early and made me go home when she found out how long I'd been there.

My longest stint was 24-hours. I've done it twice. The worst was on 24-hours, off 8, on 16-hours. I will never do that again.
