Would you Cheat

I never cheated in my 2 marriages. It just didn't seem right. The wife would be upset and hurt. That was enough.

If that question had been posed to me years ago I would have said no, absolutely not. If my lady did it to me Id be devastated. Now, that said my lady and I are decades down the line, and whilst we are not in a sexless marriage were pretty dammed close!

I will state from the outset that as I write this I have never "cheated" on my wife! I know that in essence, the definition of cheating can vary from person to person. Some consider texting and flirting cheating, and I get that. But what we are talking about here I assume is physical sexual contact, with the emphasis on the sexual bit. I say this for a reason. In my marriage, I crave physical contact. It is a fact that my sex drive and imagination are more active now than they were years ago, whilst my ladys has sadly wained! Now I still train and go to the gym, and I sometimes have a female partner. Is that wrong? Is that cheating? No, of course it isnt, so is mutual masturbation (sex) using each others bodies cheating. Its basically no different from me masturbating myself! Its a required physical release in much the same way as going town the gym or playing squash!

Now, I know some will take exception to this and say that Im trying to justify going over the side as were. Maybe I am, who knows. But let me finish by saying this. I love my wife dearly. She is sexy, intelligent, and I still desire her as much now as I did thirty-odd years ago. If I didn't maybe life would be much much simpler! So if this is a way for me to be better focused on my family, life, and work without constantly being sexually frustrated, irritable, and even allowing bitterness at some point to creep into our relationship why shouldn't I in this day and age consider that option of a friend with benefits. Isn't it just like having a squash partner?!

I dare say I will get flack for this opinion, but lets see what come back?

I would prefer to have the fortitude not to. It's not about a spouse or significant other it's about personal integrity and one's tolerance for feelings of guilt. My tolerancefor guilt is low. I prefer not to feel that way.

That said, given the opportunity and circumstances where a person is emotionally or sexually needy, everyone cheats. Those that don't are fairly sated amd or have little opportunity. Attractive people have more opportunity.

It strikes me as odd how often it seems, anecdotally, that a fairly attractive person will cheat with a less attractive person. Mates tend to be somewhat matched, cheaters less so.

If you're going to be any good at infidelity, that's the whole idea.

The fear of getting caught is a control mechanism to enforce sexual faithfulness.

That's why online forums are so popular, reduced chance of getting caught.

It's also why business travel, conferences and conventions are such a big industry.
