I knew that Canada would outplay, outshoot and outchance the American squad... I only hoped we would also outscore. I loved hearing the noise at the E centre, whenever either team scored, it was like a home game! In every city and town in Canada, there's a party on the streets, complete gridlock in front of parliament, on Ste-Catherine in Montreal, on Younge in Toronto, at GM Place... and I'm still feeling the effects from the champagne we popped at my folks' place earlier - a gold medal for Canada is awesome, eh?

I don't know a lot about hockey, but I enjoyed watching the game very much. I thought both teams played well, but Canada really did outplay the US. If the USA couldn't take the gold, I am glad the Canadians did.

As with most important hockey games (playoffs etc) I watched it while talking with my folks on the phone. My father was going for the US, my Mother and I for Canada.
They were both pretty upset with the coverage on NBC. I was watching on CBC and got to see the medals awarded and the Canadians victory lap and after game interviews. They got to see more commercials and then my Father changed to the golf.
Great moment at center ice afterwards was Yzerman, Chelios, Hull and Shanahan having their picture taken together. Hockey players have such class.
