Texas Senate Passes Forced Abortion Counseling Bill SB 2234: A "dangerous expansion of state power"

Abortion-seeking women, apparently unable to make the
best choice for their body unsupervised, would be forced
to sit through mandatory “counseling” under legislation
passed by the Texas Senate today.

SB 2243 by Sen. Angela Paxton, R-McKinney (yes, indicted anti-choice Attorney General Ken Paxton’s wife),
would force Texans needing an abortion into third party
“counseling” sessions through the Alternatives to Abortion
program, which includes several crisis pregnancy centers,
often Christian-based facilities whose main goal is to
dissuade women from choosing abortion.

Reproductive rights groups say the bill is a violation of privacy because it forces women to reveal their medical decisions to “unlicensed strangers” who are not their healthcare providers, effectively giving them “veto power over a person’s decision to have an abortion,” against long standing constitutional principles.

“SB 2243 would force Texans seeking abortion care into biased, coercive, unregulated non-medical services with the ultimate goal of shaming a woman out of her decision to have an abortion from anti-abortion crisis pregnancy centers,” said NARAL Pro-Choice Texas Deputy Director Emily Martin.

Passed by the Senate in a 20-10 vote, SB 2234 now heads to the House.

Déjà Vu, a new version of accusations against Planned Parenthood

The opposition to Pro-Choice does not fight fair.

They do not need to fight fair, or follow the law.

It is the clinics that must follow the law.

The fanatics that tried selling the fetus selling fiasco went to prison.
But, the splashing of Pro-Choice with sloppy buckets filled with dead fetuses,
still happens. The new people are in a conspiracy with regulators.

There is just one woman that is willing to stand in court and lie under oath.
How many witnesses willing to perjure themselves,
does the Anti- Choice conspiracy need ?

The Anti- Choice conspiracy depends on lies to succeed.
The War on Women could not be won with just lies,
Now false charges are brought against the last clinic.

Anti- Choice fanatics spied on the clinic, and collected information.
They did not stop there- they twisted and distorted the evidence.
That gave the regulators an excuse to go on a fishing expedition.

Operation Rescue began filing open records requests with the state in 2009, asking for health inspection reports and ambulance records from the RHS clinic. In 2013, it took the St. Louis Fire Department to court to obtain the records, then quickly posted them on its blog.

The group says it has recorded 74 ambulance transports for "medical emergencies" in the last 10 years—a characterization Planned Parenthood says is simply not true.

But that hasn’t stopped anti-abortion groups from using the other numbers.

https://www.thedailybeast.com/inside-the-campaign-to-shut-down-missouris-last-abortion-clinic

Planned Parenthood says it uses ambulances as a precaution and that they are not necessarily a sign that a medical procedure has gone awry. Also, the organization points out, there is no way for outsiders to know how many of the transports are for abortion-related complications—which Planned Parenthood estimates is the case less than half the time.

But in the hands of anti-abortion activists, the ambulance visits are weaponized. The protesters pass their observations on to extremist groups like Operation Rescue, which turn them into dramatic blog posts about the “outrageous” number of ambulance rides. Anti-abortion groups use that flawed data in demonstrations and rallies, and local groups turn them into pamphlets to give state officials, in hopes of spurring an investigation.

Missouri Gov. Parson alleges clinic deficiencies in abortion license battle

May 29, 2019

False accusations-

"Planned Parenthood’s apparent disregard for the law, their failure to complete complication records, and the accuracy of medical records are all serious concerns that need to be addressed prior to any license renewal,” Missouri Gov. Mike Parson said. “They still have two days to comply.”

The dispute comes days after Parson signed a bill banning abortions on or beyond the eighth week of pregnancy, with no exceptions for rape or incest. Missouri is among half a dozen states that have passed sweeping anti-abortion measures.

https://fox4kc.com/2019/05/29/misso...inic-deficiencies-in-abortion-license-battle/

Planned Parenthood, which operates the clinic, says those authorities haven’t fully explained what those deficiencies are.

The state wants to interview seven doctors at the clinic regarding three allegedly “failed surgical abortions,” one of which required a transfer to a hospital. Only two doctors agreed to this, and they have already been interviewed.

Existing abortion laws in Missouri are extremely stringent, which is the reason four abortion clinics have folded in the state in the past decade. It would get worse if the courts were to okay a law the governor recently signed that bans abortions after eight weeks gestation, with no exceptions for instances of rape or incest.

https://www.dailykos.com/stories/20...re-days-to-resolve-dispute-over-state-license

Dr. Colleen McNicholas, a Planned Parenthood physician in St. Louis who agreed to be interviewed by the state, said the agency hasn't shared details of the investigation or the potential concerns.

Planned Parenthood Refuses Federal Funds Over Abortion Restrictions

August 20, 2019

Planned Parenthood had threatened to withdraw from the Title X program
in the days leading up to a Monday deadline for providers to certify to
HHS they would comply with the new requirements. It had petitioned
the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit to freeze the policy change,
but on Friday the court refused to issue an emergency injunction.

A separate clinic in Maine, Maine Family Planning, also announced
yesterday it’s dropping out of the program for the same reasons after
47 years of participation.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...trump/5d5afac0602ff171a5d73066/?noredirect=on

Planned Parenthood said Monday it will withdraw from the federal
Title X program that helps low-income people access contraception
rather than comply with what it calls a new Trump administration
“gag rule” that prohibits it from providing abortion referrals to
those patients

https://www.latimes.com/world-natio...ed-parenthood-title-x-funds-abortion-gag-rule

Planned Parenthood's withdrawal from the $286 million federal
program represents a significant shift in the way the family
planning program operates. The organization has been involved
in the program since its inception, and officials say it serves about
40% of the nation's 4 million Title X recipients, who receive
services such as contraception and STD screenings.

hmmmm...

Why are Republicans taking away birth control?

Because they don't want women to have it.

The reason Republicans keep taking away birth control is because
Republicans want to take away your birth control.

They hate the power it gives women, especially young women
and low-income women.

The anti-choice movement has never been interested in
punishing straight men for having sex. Instead, it's about
punishing women and LGBTQ people for trying to lay
claim to the sexual autonomy that the right believes
belongs to heterosexual men alone.

Trump may like having sex with women, but he doesn't
want them to have any power.

Groping women on a one-at-a-time basis may be fun (for him)
but taking away their birth control? That's how you "grab them
by the pussy" on global scale.

Six mayors of Massachusetts cities gathered
outside the State House on Tuesday morning to demand action on a bill
expanding access to abortion, saying Massachusetts should continue to
be a leader on health care.

A total of 17 mayors signed on to support the Roe Act, including the mayors
of Worcester, Cambridge, Newton, Salem, Holyoke, Malden, Medford,
Melrose, Beverly, Newburyport, New Bedford, and Northampton.

“This is a state that’s led the way on health care reform.
This is a state that has led the way for reproductive freedoms
for women and women’s health,” said Boston Mayor
Martin J. Walsh, who said efforts by the Trump administration
and other state Legislatures to roll back abortion rights are
endangering women’s health. “We’re not going to stand
for that here in Massachusetts.”

As states such as Mississippi and Alabama have tried to restrict
abortion and the president has sought to overturn Roe v. Wade,
the ruling that made it legal, Massachusetts is considering a bill
that codifies reproductive freedom into state law. Called the
Roe Act, the bill would remove restrictions that are not currently
enforced, such as a 24-hour waiting period to have an abortion.

Currently, a woman who is told after 24 weeks that her baby is
not going to survive must still carry the pregnancy to term —
unless she has the resources to travel to a state such as Colorado
where a later abortion is legal.

“When somebody has to leave Massachusetts to get health care,
something’s wrong with that piece of health care,” Rivera said.

"Rallies Demand?"

Does it say ANYWHERE in our U.S. Constitution that rallies can DEMAND anything? Do modern liberal-progressives even CARE anything about our contitutional protections? Or are they all about MOB rule nowadays? The very existence of Antifa would suggest the latter!

Last year, the Senate Democrats introduced about a fraudulent liar named Dr. Christina Blasey-Ford who admitted getting drunk & going to frat-parties in her younger days, where she all-of-a-sudden remembered that Brett Kavanaugh had assaulted her during the summer of 1982. It's entirely possible that she was also sexually-assaulted by Merrick Garland, Bill Clinton, & Joe Biden, but as they're all pro-choice luminaries she's conveniently forgotten any one of those possible episodes.

The entire U.S. Senate listened to Dr. Ford's dishonest testimony during the summer of 2018 - and when it had concluded that legislative body did NOT believe her bullsh*t, confirming the nomination of Judge Kavanaugh onto our U.S. Supreme Court, as is required by the U.S. Constitution. The SAME angry Democrats who were unhappy with the the 2016 presidential election and the release of the Mueller Report from earlier this year are ALSO upset with last year's Senate vote! Go figure...

There we go again, some moron using the word liberal as an insult, as in "liberal progressive".
Clearly lacks any understanding at all of the word liberal, just ignorantly grabbing at catch phrases in an effort to put the poster down. Also "antifa". Doesn't exist other than a mainstream media discription of the rent a mob who turn up at white supremacist rallies. Antifa is not an organisation, it has no leaders, no managing committee, no manifesto, it has no fee paying members. It doesn't exist, it's just a shorthand expression.

You are correct - the modern Democratic Party isn't "liberal-progressives" anymore - nowadays they are primarily left-wing neo-socialist wackos!

"Also "antifa". Doesn't exist other than a mainstream media discription of the rent a mob who turn up at white supremacist rallies."

Antifa has replaced the Ku Kux Klan as the militant arm of the Democratic Party, complete with masks hiding their identity! Antifa is short for "American Nazis!"

"Stop being so damned lazy."

Antifa isn't so much "lazy" as they are violent & anti-American.

I sure as hell don't need you to tell me I'm correct!
Antifa is shorthand for anti fascist. And you know it. Those who fall under its umbrella share the same patriotism and courage as the 400,000 Americans who gave their lives in an attempt to rid the world of the pure evil that fascism represents. If you want to insult those of your glorious dead with the same moronic disrespect that is displayed by trump then that is your choice but expect to be called on it bozo.

Comparing those street clowns who use violence to try and silence anyone who disagrees with them to those who went and fought against real fascism in WWII Europe is the only real disrespect to the WWII vets going on.

That's fucking disgusting.

Real antifascist fight for free speech, the clowns dressed up in black are more fascist than the innocent people they violate.

That makes sense because the people participating in Antifa ARE essentially domestic terrorists, not unlike Hitler's Brownshirts were back in the early 1930's!

The AntiFa- Fascist like to run around beating up old people and random pedestrians so they can feel tough, like actual AntiFascist who fought in WWII, Desert Storm and OIF/OEF.

BotanyBoy writes: "Awwww someone who idolizes the fascistic terrorist group known as AntiFa..."

Most modern Democrats recognize Antifa as a violent hate-group that aligns itself with their own Democratic Party (much like the Ku Kux Klan once did in the American south!) The KKK ended-up losing its political clout after the Democrats finally lost their control/domination of the American south back around 1980.

"The AntiFa-Fascist like to run around beating up old people and random pedestrians so they can feel tough..."

Antifa protesters vastly prefer confronting the elderly, children, and/or women, as they tend to do poorly when they're up against fully-grown men. First & foremost, Antifa protesters are opposed to free-speech by conservatives. If the speaker should hate America instead then the Antifa protesters will almost certainly do everything that they possibly can to protect him/her, and promote their message!

Antifa is also opposed to traditional American values, including Christianity, the First & Second Amendments, border-enforcement, the Electoral College, and standing respectfully during our national anthem. Antifa protesters support abortion, Islam, transgendered athletics, Dr. Christina Blasey-Ford, & Jussie Smollett!

Harvey Weinstein is out on bail.

He had the gall to attend the Actors Hour – a New York showcase

Kelly Bachman took issue with his presence, and let people know it.

Bachman didn’t anticipate encountering Weinstein at the event,
which bills itself as an intimate “speakeasy” for writers, directors,
actors, musicians.

Zoe Stuckless confronted Weinstein directly

Stuckless was asked to leave by the event organizers,

Amber Rollo, a friend of Bachman's who also confronted Weinstein,
calling him "a monster."

10 women left.

The show's promoters could have stopped him at the door, and
told him that he was
not welcome.

They gave a public apology, after the fact.

Free publicity, at any price ?
