Personally I thought season 2 was a hugeee letdown. They rushed it. Having played both The Last of Us games twice, I expected more emotional depth and narrative precision. The games BROKE me!!! Ellie’s character arc, ( which is super powerful in Part II when she spirals through grief and vengeance…I don’t want to write any spoilers here for readers who want to watch/play) felt shallow and rushed!!! And her line “I’m gonna be a dad” when she finds out Dina is pregnant?

In the game at least it’s subtle and intimate and realistic because she knows Dina is now a liability and a weakness. Season 1 worked because it respected the source material’s pacing and emotional gravity. This didn’t. I have strong opinions on this particular subject

I want to play the games now that they’re on PC but I don’t have the time to invest in games any more. LOVE the 1st season and I’m about to renew HBO so I just just watch it and only pay for one month (I alternate between streaming services as needed )

That episode was amazing, really set the tone for something more intimate, more character driven. Such a rare risk for bigger shows...
