I for one, spent half the night with the fam, I cooked beef bourguignon (hairy bikers recipe), polished off a bottle of champagne then went to a friends who was hosting: many cocktails and games of cards were played and then we all melted lead and poured the hot liquid into cold water. Whatever shape the lead makes is meant to signal what your year ahead will look like 🥰.
For example:
  • Ring / circle… marriage, commitment
  • Boat / wave / airplane etc
  • … travel, change
  • Animal… traits you’ll need (strength, caution, personality of a new partner…)
  • Sharp or broken shapes…. obstacles, conflict, instability
My shape was very circular with little sharp spikes coming off of it. I’m still yet figuring out what this means 😂

Mine was simple.
-come home from work.
-eat dinner.
-Fall asleep early.

Not a big fan of staying up, especially if it messes up my sleep schedule since I will have to work tomorrow.
If I may offer an idea what your shape means....the ring would signify commitment. Like you are committed to finishing your studies and such.
The spikes seem to mean the sharp definition. Maybe the obstacles keeping you from your goal maybe?
In any case , I hope this year is better than the last. 🤗🤗😘😘

Last night was split between two parties...

One at my work wife's house where my real wife and work wife got a little too drunk..unfortunately my fantasy of them getting together didn't happen...but did play some fun "clean" games like Mexican Train (a version of dominos) and then a game called Ball where various small prizes were wrapped in a huge ball plastic wrap..one person starts to unravel the ball while the person next to them is rolling a pair of dice and only passes the ball once a pair of doubles are rolled...

Then we drove to my best friends house in time to see th ball drop...this lead to shooting pool before playing card game called Crack List (find it on tik tok) Toggle and finally cards against humanity...

Came home at 5am..wife drunk fell asleep right away leaving me to take care of 1st hardon of the year to myself

Snap! I also played cards against humanity! Amazing game. Although this time around (despite having the green expansion box) I didn't get very good cards and only ended up with 5 blacks. (The winner had 12…😂)

Aside from work wife and life wife not getting it on with one another it sounds like you had a fantastic time!

I am sorry however to hear about you having to take care of yourself… just know if I was the one there , the new year would have ended with you hard and started with you finishing in me 😈 (in your place of choice.)

A wholesome and quiet new years is sometimes the best way to bring in a new year. I think the whole big party and countdown is a scam… another excuse to get drunk and spend time with family though everyone’s usually quite tired from the Christmas period! Early to bed and 8+ hours of sleep is also a luxury you have to take when you can!

What did you have for dinner? Anything fancy? Or something simple?

I agree with the sleep schedule, I woke up a lil grumpy today because of the lack of sleep… but I caused it so I have to reap the consequences (as does everyone around me until I get a coffee and some food in me 😂)

I like your interpretation. I also thought the circle could signify my studies 🥰 I’m hoping for some easy obstacles for sure 🥰
 
It was a fun night...issue now is the sleep schedule is all messed up..me on 3 hours of sleep..wife still sleeping at its 1015..supposed to back to friends house for French Toast breakfast...we also have massages scheduled later this afternoon...

Had a few too many bubbly drinks and then moved on to whatever was left in the cupboard. Bad idea. I was DEFINTLY more drunk than I planned and didn’t get to sleep till 4am. No arrest this time and no getting kicked out of any bars staying home one a night is a winner 😂. Big win.

No mad traditions here unless falling asleep in my jeans counts haha. Did not eat grapes under the table but I did eat sausage rolls over the sink at 12:07 which I assume brings wealth. Or indigestion.

Resolutions:
Same as every year. Drink less. Go on holiday.

Bubbly mixed with cupboard leftovers? Damn your hangover must be crazy today. Thank god I stuck to champagne and tequila 😂 also sausage rolls over the sink sounds good. Send me an invite next time and I’ll bring homemade ones that are extra flaky and definitely need eating over a sink 😉

Good luck drinking less! Any holiday destinations?

French toast breakfast will be more like French toast brunch at this point ;) maybe make a
Pot of coffee and coax her awake slowly with a tongue between her legs 😏 (a perfect way to be woken up… I imagine)

Massages… mmmm… I could do with one or those 😍

Happy New Year. Love the sound of your tradition.
We went camping in a vineyard with live music, dancing and drinks under a covered barn and stars. Followed by a late night camp fire

Happy New Year Bean!

I had the responsible new year celebration. I worked the overnight shift. So i organized a little potluck with my coworkers. I made a mulled cider and brought a non alcoholic bubbly to pop at midnight :)

Maybe the circle with spikes represents a future explosive relationship;) one from a encounter involving travel and rock shows

Happy new year, sounds like you had a lovely evening :)

I had a quiet one, saw in the year with a drink and tried to be positive about the year ahead. I remember the mad nye house parties I went to when I was younger, the best was a pop up party in Greenwich tunnel, mad night!
