So USA Mixed Doubles curling took a major blow yesterday, losing the GB and SK. The Ice seems to have changed completely in 24 hours for the team.

Breezy Johnson took gold in Alpine Downhill....even with Vonn, I'm not sure this would've changed.

US women dominated in hockey beating Finland 5-0.

And Illya did the first backflip in decades in his program yesterday, landing him in second place.....something he isn't used to.
Chock/Bates free dance have the US a huge lead in team competition.

Curling MD - US vs Sweden and Estonia. This could decide whether we make the finals.
Men's Luge - runs 3/4 - Germany-Austria-Italy - Gustafson sitting in 11
Men's Single skate - Illya might compete but not solid yet to finish the day

I liked the Olympics years ago, mostly before I had internet. I can see the challenge of accurate shooting after cross country skiing, but the winter sports are still mostly boring. The costs of guaranteeing snow and ice, in addition to all the insane costs of any Olympics, may eventually shut down the winter games. Or the northern nations could leave the IOC and form their own winter games league with more reasonable costs.

Yeah, I’m saw that as well. GPS programming would be my guess. Pretty cool.

Though now that I think about it, those guys competing in the drone racing league a year or some on tv were amazing what they could do with a drone at speed. So could be just a person driving their drone.

Clown Prince JD Vance, heir to the Peecock throne, almost got the entire United States Figure Skating Team disqualified at the Winter Olympics.

With President Mushbrain's brain deteriorating at an ever increasing pace.....the end is near, Mushbrain can no longer swing a golf club... JD Vance is still rough around the edges and not ready. Vance is at the Olympics and decided to go watch women's figure skating today, which is what alpha males do. They get to the venue and ask....WHAR IS MURICAN ONLY PARKING? They are shown a map with designated parking areas. They commandeer the ENTIRE MOTHERFUCKING AMERICAN PARKING ZONE ("National Security", dontcha know).

Sooo....no parking available for American Olympic competitors.

If you know anything about the Olympics, you would know they are run on a more precise timing schedule than many countrys' military operation forces.

If you don't show up at the designated time, you are disqualified. No appeal.

At the Olympic village, the womens figure skating team loads their gear onto luxury motor coaches and get caught in Vance's nightmare traffic. They inch their way to the venue, the clock is ticking. THEY CANNOT UNLOAD BECAUSE THE SECRET SERVICE TELLS THEM TO MOVE ALONG.

They are freaking out as a team. The bus driver is finally able to pull over about six blocks away from the venue, the skater grab their gear bags and have to walk at a very fast clip to the venue and get signed in to compete with literally minutes to spare. They're frazzled. The get into their costumes head to the ice, have abbreviated warmups and turn in a performance that, while admirable, got much lower scores than qualifying events they'd competed in last month.

Knocked out of gold medal competition on day one.

All because of Vance and the boys.

I'm sure this will break down into another argument thread, but I love watching the Olympics and loved the Opening Ceremonies so much yesterday. The best example of global cooperation imo.

Currently - Women's solo Luge training
Upcoming- Curling (guilty pleasure) - US mixed doubles is absolutely kicking ass
Big Air snowboard - dudes are insane
Speed skating - I could watch this all day
Any fast downhill skiing - How can Lindsey Vonn ski with a torn ACL? Seriously....boggles my mind.

Second discussion topic - being from the US, we see the US feed. Do other countries also see the US feed with some additional content or do you get your own feed?
