If I were the US, I would appeal.
The judge has consistently rated the US lower than the others and the US still has previously won.. so they have a case.

There have been mountains of scientific studies of the inherent nationalistic biases of judges inflating the scores of their home country and lowering the scores of the perceived closest competitor (usually but not always the USA).
Every single country with a Winter Olympic team does this....except one. You go, Finland!

Canada fought hard; it was a great medal match-up, and they're a good squad. But I've never seen a sports team look more collectively disappointed than Canada while they were getting their silver medals.
I think they felt like they had a chance to beat the U.S. at a time Canada really wants to knock us down a peg. (Understandably; half of us are complete assholes.)
