Winter Holiday Support Thread

Did they sign their pc for you, too? Because I know exactly who did it to me. I'm resisting the urge to return the favor.

Oh, yeah -- but I won't stoop to that.

Me either, tho I am tempted just because I think it's so shitty. See, I think the thinking behind it was to leave a nice comment, hoping that I'd see it and go vote a 5 on their story. What they didn't realize is that when I only have one new vote, it's pretty obvious what score they gave me with their super sweet pc.

I'm sure everyone is on pins and/or needles waiting to learn about my stories. Well, haul you ass off those suckers, they hurt. Besides, there's nothing to wait for. My six-page Group Sex story, Xmas Xcess, did have some housecleaning done night before last, but it and, The Belle of Catawba St. had no change, plus or minus, last night.

I slipped in one last story just after 11:00 pm CST last night. Exchanging Presents is a short (2200 word) Romance that possibly should have been in Exhibition. As of about 8:30 am, it was still languishing in "pending." If it gets posted in time for the contest, I'll come around begging, pleading, and whining for sex, no, wait, I mean votes.

So today is absolutely the last day for submissions? I thought that yesterday was. Doesn't matter to me, really. I'm done with Christmas writing this year. If I'm still around for the next Winter Holiday, I'll do a sequel.

Just curious. Is it proper etiquette (I'm not sure what word to use) to give someone's story a 5 simply because they left a good pc (and presumably a 5)?

I don't know about proper, but it's done alot in contests. Why do you think so many people vote on other entries in the contest? :) I personally don't subscribe to that theory, mostly because I hate to give undeserved 5's, and also cuz I'm too lazy.

Makes sense.

I think I'm all Santa'd & Snowed out too...
just 4 more AHer stories on my reading 'to do' list before closing.
BTW - what contest theme comes next in the natural order of things??

I'm also trying to read all of the AH irregulars' stories. If I haven't done yours, send me a butt-kickin PM.

I'm all done with the AHer stories except for Rump's, Danielle's and Box's newest ones, so a few days ago I crossed over to the other entries. I think I'll quit soon, though. I'm getting overwhelmed by the vast number of them, and RL is intruding in a big way and taking away from my reading time.

I have said repeatedly that almost every Holiday Contest story I have read has been excellant. I normally do not comment on any individuals stories other than my own pathetic ramblings, but.....
If you have not read DK's latest, 'Endless'. You should.............

Still wishing every one much luck.
If you do not have a pc from me, let me know that I missed you, it was not intentional.
Thank all that have left PC's for my musings, expecially if I missed sending you a thank you.

Hey Hugo

Thanks for the comment and vote on Endless. I really appreciate it.

Sure is exciting

I'm a newbie, this is the first contest I've been in, and I must say: This has really been exciting!

I have followed this thread, and gotten into spirit of RCVing others who post here. (I have followed Aurora's - and mom's - recommendation to either say something nice ["5"] or say nothing at all, given that I am a contestant too.)

I never expected to win, but I would like to have finished first in my category. (It looks like that won't happen, but I can't complain, having given well deserved praise to a certain story that shall go unnamed so as not to attract trolls. You know which story I'm referring to, D.)

Anyway, for all the trials and tribulations, and slings and arrows of outrageous trolls, and delaying my real work countless times each day to check my votes, and all the rest, it has been great fun and an enriching experience (assuming I don't lose my job for spending so much time here instead of there!) R.A.

My story:
Shy Virgin’s Fear Becomes Joy (aka “Love and Intimacy – Denise’s Joyful Holiday Discoveries”)
(Added in an edit per Rumple's advice.)

Roxanne,

You're a good addition to the list of contestants. Lesbian is a very competitive category that features some of the best writers here at Lit. Your success so far rates at least a couple nana's: :nana: :nana:

One thing you might want to do is include a link to your story in your sig line. It's a relatively simple process, as proven by having several.

It does if I'm writing the story. My goal is to write a Lesbian story that either gets and H or, even better, gets Colly's approval. Bless her heart, she keeps trying to help, but I'm not there yet.

You know I approve of your work :)

Ah, you sweet thang, you. But we both know my Lesbian stories are not exactly the choicest product of the writer's art. :)

EL, I'm also getting your Halloween story when I click the link.
