Winter Holiday Support Thread

I actually read it and commented on it when it came out. It reminds me of how I feel, well not quite to that extent. But I was impressed because feelings like that are really hard to write, and harder yet to experience so you can write about that.
Thank you Sweetie. If it will ever end, I will have the sequel to Ghostly Date for the contest (I hope). Right now I think it had passed Rumps in length and is not done. No where near the sex or quality, just very long. I'm sure it will be a cure for insomnia.

>>>>Morning Rump.
Don't I wish I knew her personally. Spirited Holiday is already at 10800 and not ending so wish me luck.
Good to see you even if it is early for you.

Hey RF...Thanks so much. I know, it was my Nanowrimo entry. No polishing done. The rest of it will be better but won't be out as fast. And coming from a man who can put so much effort into six pages of Holiday sex that had my computer screen blushing, that's a compliment.
I'm not a crime writer, although some have said my writing is a crime. But I really do think the story may be marketable. The only "possible" hitch that occured to me after reading that one chapter had to do with marketing more than writing. Could the characters be a bit formulaic? Odds are they're not and even it they are, it might not be a problem depending on what readers of the genre are buying. Just passing that thought along, writer-to-writer.

I do plan on trying to get it published, once it's had a polish to it. that and Dark Reasons when I get that one finished. I've also started something that I plan on sending into Ellora's Cave when I get it finished and see if they'll buy it. I want money dammit...enough of this working for strokes..lol.

You'll get the first autographed copy...wait, can you autograph an ebook?

Good luck, Danielle! :)

Good afternoon, everybody! It's almost 1pm over here.

Well, it's now official. I'm going forward with writing my 2nd contest entry. I wasn't completely sure at first that I was going to write it, because I had this big-time nightclub gig this coming Monday that I had to prepare for, but today I found out that I was pulled from the show at the last minute. So now I can focus my attention to the new story.

I'm not sad about losing the gig, quite relieved actually. I'll do better next time. ;)

Good afternoon then Aurora, and thank you.

so is it stuck in your head? Your new story?

I sat down last night and remember one of my lost books, stuff I wrote years ago on an old word processor that the disks didn't interchange with my computer and everything was lost. I have almost the entire plotline remembered and now I'm excited about writing it. Was lost yesterday, nothing came to me to write. Staring at a blank screen is really scary.

Do you sing? I'm so jealous. I sing, but my husband gets out his gun and tells me the cat's dying so he's gonna go put it out of its misery...ain't he sweet?

Thanks, Hugo.

Stuck? No, it's fine. I lost some sleep last night from working out the plot details in my head. I've had enough of the "blank screen" nightmare from my experience with NaNo, thank you very much. ;)

He sounds charming ( :p kidding). My BF recently said that he'd be happy if I were to sing for him every day for the rest of his life. He's so sweet that he almost makes me gag sometimes.

I love all kinds of music, so for that reason I try to sing all kinds, even opera on occasion. Unfortunately, a voice can only handle so much variety so I've narrowed my style down to Jazz/Blues/R&B for my public performances.

NOW HEAR THIS! NOW HEAR THIS!

My lastest attack on Lit literature and the sensibilities of cultured readers has just been posted as a Holiday contest entry.

Warning: The Belle Of Catawba Street has NO, I say again, NO, sex. It does have KKK wannabe's, the "N" word, a cross burning, and a vicious dog attack. Oh yeah, it's supposed to be funny. The good news it's a one-pager.

You may now return to your regular porn pursuits.

Damn I'm jealous of all you writing a second story. I wanted to.. I started to... but life is biting me in a tender place! I hate it when I have to work at work! Can someone tell me why I pay these people to do the work... when they make me work too?... sigh

Hell me too. I have one started but it is definitely not working. The problem is it is even stranger than I am and it's a difficult write. I may shelve it and give up.

Cookie, the problem you and DP suffer from is a congenital need to try and do your best. Why not take a stab a knocking out a rough draft this weekend? For most folks, editing and proofing can be done in smaller time blocks.

I am anal (no pun) over my writing. Each sentence for me is agony; my perfectionism takes over. I stepped away; I will go back in a few days. I'm working on a bawdy Victorian piece now. It is a challenge...

I'm much the same way. However, on first drafts it's so much fun to get caught up in the creative process and just write until you mind or body gives out. Editing and rewriting is where my condition kicks in, big time.

I too have inflicted Lit readership with more babbling. A desire to at least qualify for winning has manifested itself, so please look at the link in the signature.

And cookiejar, nice to see you around. Warning : Lake Effect Snow in the forecast. You may not be going anywhere this weekend, and have time for writing.

I need a dog like that, my Yorkies just don't cut it. I think it's the too cute faces, just don't scare those Jehovah Witnesses the right way.
