i look forward to reading it.sack said:I have decided to write one more Holiday Contest entry, Searching For Christmas, which should be posted in a couple of days. I noticed in many entries about Christmas, the only relation to that holiday happens to be that the story takes place around that time, including my first two entries. This story is intimately connected to Christmas, and (hopefully) all the stronger for it.

It's only my 2nd contest, but I'm actually experiencing more "votes per view" this time (my holiday story has been averaging 10.75 votes per 1,000 views, whereas my halloween story only averaged 3.75 votes per 1,000 views). The shocker is the colossal drop in views -- 5 times lower for me this contest. I've been told it might be a result of category selection, but I honestly think EL is right... no one's reading.oggbashan said:I have an expectation, after 100+ submissions, that I will get a ratio of votes per 1000 views and a few PCs. My entry for the Winter Holiday contest has broken the mould... Is anyone else experiencing a low vote/view ratio this time? I would expect it if I had written half-a-dozen Lit pages but for 800 odd words?

i have like 27 votes and 29 pc's
hrm...makes you think. deffinitely this contest is much slower going than the last and im wondering if it isnt because they were so close together? hrm.
" reads virtually stopped. Usually the contest page list keeps readers coming but not so far. Everybody can't be shopping, can they? well, usually i wouldnt say a thing but dayum! i think its just with holiday (in the states) and maybe reader burn out from last comp. i know im behind in my reading as well and i usually get to atleast 80% or more of the stories. will be printing out a story or two to read on road trip today.davidwatts said:I thought readers were merely fleeing from me, but I guess there doesn't appear to be a lot of reading going on out there. Once I fell off the front New page my "Norman the Cat" reads virtually stopped. Usually the contest page list keeps readers coming but not so far. Everybody can't be shopping, can they?
