Michael sat there with Lilith in his arms. His wings extended to shade them from the noon sun. "But I promised I would keep us safe, I promised everyone that day I burned the school down, I promised myself. I was too busy playing happy families as Chroma would call it," she said pulling away, her head down. As she pulled away, Michael was hurt. He was there for her. But it seemed she didn't want it.

Michael's feelings were soon squelched as she spoke again. Her hand reaching up to lightly caress his face. Smiling he leaned into her touch. "I don't regret anything we've done. I want more. I want you Lili. I may be banged up a little. But i'll live. I promise." Smiling Michael sat there next to her, in his jeans. His chest exposed along with his feet. Leaning forward he kissed her forehead softly.

How had so much gone wrong so fast. Gabriel was used to Amy being quiet, but not so... quiet. She was sitting in her seat, not moving or acting her usual cheerful self. He realized that she knew he was taking her away from the family, even if he said they were just getting weapons. He wasn't totally sure how much she had heard of it all. He found himself playing it back in his head. Besides which, part of him worried about being followed. If the doctor already knew where they were, what if he followed them to the motel. Gabriel had a mental image of walking into the hotel room, covered with wounds from a victorious battle, to find Uriel and Amy laying in a pool of blood, or simply gone, captives of the doctor. "Shit." Sometimes it really didn't pay to get out of bed.

He turned down an dirt round, headed toward a trailer he had heard about. It wasn't exactly a gun store, but they didn' ask for you identity anyway. He figured they had enough that they could at least get a couple of shotguns and maybe a couple of saturday night specials, but he wasn't sure how much Rodney would ask for. He was prepared to take out enough guns, on prospect, so they could each have one. He wasn't sure where he would get the money to pay Rodney back, but it didn't matter if it helped them last the night. He already knew that he wasn't going to be able to leave the others at the motel after all. "Shit."

Lilith relished in the attention he was giving her. She knew he was right, but deep inside she knew nothing would make her feel better. She Loved the way he kissed her, the way his touch was so gentle, everything about him. She moved, her lips touching his lightly, not wanting to hurt his bruised lip.

After pulling away she looked up at him, "They left didn't they? Took Amy with them?" she asked, she could almost see them driving down the street when Chroma made another appearance and killed all of them. She shuddered, "We should get inside, start trying to lock things up, I might sneak into town to get us some food later tonight." SHe informer him and leaned back against the rock. "I love you so much Micheal," she smiled up at him and kissed his cheek softly as she stood slowly and looked at her hands, "And I suppose I should probably get these cleaned and bandaged up." she said with a faked half smile.

Doc sat, just as he had the previous night, just sitting. Waiting. Tuning out. Tuning back in. Waiting. Not watching. Not thinking. Meditation had taught him long ago to be patient. Music played in the background. Stanley Clarke. Good choice for meditating, for trying to move across space. Not across time, Doc had decided. No, he was merely shifting across space. But it was where he was shifting to that was the good bit. Oh, yeah, sure, no worries, shifting across space to anywhere was good. But shifting into Lilith's mind. That almost smile crossed his lips again, and he slowly closed his eyes, waiting yet again. A very patient man, he was. Very patient.

Uriel lifted his head as the car bumped onto a dirt track. This didn't feel like a motel at all - and the seedy trailer they arrived at filled him with nothing but unease.

Uriel emerged from the car with Gabriel but at a terse command from the other he sat on the hood of the vehicle and let Gabriel go in alone. Waiting in the hot sun, Uriel couldn't avoid looking up almost constantly - so much so that he was almost surprised when Gabriel emerged with a sour expression and a heavy sports bag.

The moonshine had been a lucky find but as it was turning out a terrible idea. Drinking deeply out at the still where I had found it was even dumber. Luckly the still's owner had been for more shocked to find me then I had to been found. After some rather comical missunderstandings involving religous icons and a long tradtion of guilt we were able to come to an agreement that he would supply me with some of his finest and I would put in a good word with the heavenly father on his behalf when I saw him next. After celebrating this arrangement with yet another swig of his finest illegal hooch I was on my way back to the house with some booty in tow.

When I saw the broken window I became afraid especially as the car was missing. But seeing no other vehicles I decided to take a risk and swooped down into the wood outside out of sight. Hiding my wings I made my way back to the house and tried the front door finding it locked I knocked and waited to see who would answer.

Michael held Lilith in his arms, his wings outspread around them shading them from the sun. Her lips lightly touched his, sending a slight pain thru his lips, but it was bearable. She had barely touched him. Michael nodded in response to her inquiries. The both stood up in each others arms. Helping each other stand as they did.

"I Love you to Lili" Smiling down to her before she kissed his cheek softly. Looking at her hands he took her wrists and held her palms up. The small glasses cuts on her palms had stopped bleeding. The blood dried on her skin. "Yeah we should, wrap them up too. If we are going to be of any use to the others we need to be at least able to do something." Michael wrapped his arm around her waist, his wings still outstretched, walking back to the house with her.

Lilith walked with him back to the house, a look of concentration on her face. She would set up a perimeter, go out and find some wood to board up the intact windows in the house. She would empty her room, the huge window too large to repair. She would ask Micheal if she could room with him, and then they would board up the door to her room.

She hoped the others were safe, Gaberiel was with them, all she hoped was he didn't make any stupid mistakes. She opened the door for them and pulled from Micheal as she walked inside. "Do you think you're well enough to help me move some stuff from my room? I might need to bunk up with you for a few nights," she said stepping over to the sink and turning on the faucet. She winced as the cold water splashed over her bruised and cut hands. Her knees she would worry about later, thanks to her pants, the blood hadn't seeped through.

She leaned against the counter as the water washed over her cuts, and let out a sigh. "We will fight him Micheal and we'll win. I know something the others don't, he doesnt need all of us. Me and Amy are the ones he wants, he wants to breed us Micheal." she breathed turning to him and finding a clean dish towel to wipe her hands on.

They reached the house and went back inside. Michael looked around outside, along the horizon and in the sky. He didn't know where or when Chroma would return. But return he would. Probably with the doctor. The sun was still high in the sky, it was only just about mid day and the breeze was warm as it ran thru the house. "I think I can move a few things, no heavy lifting for me though. That wouldn't be such a good idea." Smiling Michael kissed Lilith on the lips sofly, his finger bent and lifted her face up to his by her chin. "I would have you no other place."

Lilith went to wash her hands, was the blood and the small pieces of glass from her flesh while Michael went into the closet and fished out a hammer and a box of nails. A look a shock on his face as Lilith revealed what she knew. "H..How do you know this?" Michael held the box of nails in one hand and the hammer in another. His wings were once again folded behind his back. "He wants to breed you? Why?"

Lilith shook her head, "Ever since I helped burn down the school, his experiments have been failing. So far me and Amy are the only females suitable for breeding. He wants to sell us to the government. Don't ask me how I know it, it's like I can see into his mind."

She bit her lip and walked towards him, taking the hammer and nails from him. "But maybe I just have an over active imagination and thought it all up. WHo knows, forget I said anything," she said giving him a small smile. "YOu go and rest, I'll start working on the house." she said moving past him and up the stairs into her room, she needed to change into something less constricting if she was going to be playing Construction Worker Lilith.

She stepped into her room, staring out at the lake from the huge gash. Shaking her head she began to strip, going to her dresser wearing only her panties she began to search through for a pair of shorts and a clean shirt.

Michael listened as she told him of what she knew. "Do you see into his mind often?" Lilith walked towards him taking the hammer and box of nails from his hands. "Yeah maybe, who knows. Maybe you can see into his mind" Shrugging Michael stood there as Lilith walked past him. She went up the stairs to what he thought was begin boarding up the windows. That would be much easier if he helped her, but with only one hammer it would be tough. They could figure something out.

Michael headed upstairs. Opening each of the doors he looked for her. Not in Gabriel's room. Nor Amy's, or Uriel's. Maybe she was in his. Opening the door, she wasn't around. She must have went up to hers to board up the broken window first. Michael went up to her room, he didn't hear the sound of a hammer hitting a nail just yet, but she just started so he opened the door.

There she was in front of her dresser undressing. He watched as she peeled off more and more clothing. She was so beautiful even in light of the things that happened and things to come. Standing there in only her panties he couldn't help himself. Silently he entered her room. Until he stood behind her looking at her in the mirror as she searched thru the drawers for something to replace her clothes.

"well don't you look lovely Lili"

Lilith was lost in her own thoughts, calculating and making plans as she stood ther half naked. She was so lost in thoughts she didn't even hear Micheal come in. As she heard him she stood up slowly, setting the shirt she had found on the top of the dresser. She smiled at him in the mirror and rached for his hands.

Taking them she slid them around her bare stomach, letting his hands slowly caress her skin as she leaned gently against him. Her body rested lightly against his, her body fitting perfectly with his. "I bet you say that to all the half naked girls you meet," she joked, her eyes meeting his in their reflection, her hand still resting on his.

Wing color:Silver, with a metalic sheen to them.

Bio: Raphael was, besides Chroma, one of the first succesful experiments. He was older than the rest at the school and always looked at them like his family. Younger brothers and sisters that he always watched out for. Raphael was the big brother everyone could go to, until the fire. Everyone thought Raphael perished the day the school burned down, but he hadn't. After the brutal arson, he made no attempt to re-connect with his family, but he never let them out of his sight. Ever since the day of freedom, when the school burnt down, Raphael has been watching over the rest of them, playing "Guardian Angel".

IC:
Raphael felt the biting chill of the night air on his bare torso as he soared silently through the black sky, the moonlight reflecting off of his silver wings. His eyes gazed at the cabin below. In all the years he'd been keeping in eye on his siblings, he never had come this close. But in all those years, he'd never been needed more than now. The Doctor was back, and Chroma was his enforcer. Raphael knew that they would be picked off one by one, he was here to make sure that it didn't happen.

He silently swooped down and landed softly on the roof of the cabin, perching himself in a shadow. His eyes swept the wilderness, waiting for something to happen, anything. When Chroma returned, Raphael would be ready for him.

As he sat, keeping watch over the silent cabin his mind began to flash back to memories of happier times, when he was with the ones he loved. He shook his head, trying to rattle the memory from his brain. That's all they were now, memories.

Michael stood behind Lilith his arms wrapped around her torso. His palms lightly resting against her skin. "I bet you say that to all the half naked girls you meet" Smiling into the mirror he kissed the back of her neck. "I haven't seen any other half naked girls. Lilith's hand rested atop his as they stood looking at each other in the mirror. The events of things to come, and those that have passed slipped from their mind for those few moments.

They were brought back by a faint knock on the door. It was barely audible but it did sound like it was comming from downstairs. Michael held his index finger to his lips and headed downstairs quietly. He picked up the bat left on the couch, holding it like a baseball player. Knock Knock. There it was again, it was definetly at the front door. Michael went to the window and peeked thru the curtain. Luke.

Opening the door quickly he lowered the bat. "Luke, where have you been?" Michael stood at the entry way in his jeans. Fixing his glasses to sit a bit higher on his nose he noticed Luke carying a bag of something. Ushering Luke inside quickly he looked around the horizon, looking to the sky again. Chroma was no where to be seen.

"Chroma's been here. And the Doctor will be too soon most likey. Gabriel, Amy, and Uriel have gone to go get some weapons of some sort from town. Lilith and I were about to start boarding up the windows. Where did you go?"

Amy started to pout when Gabriel went into the trailor and her mood soured when he returned with a bag

BAD THINGS Amy signed quickly then pointed at the bag. She didn't like the feelings that were growing inside of her and she really didn't like being so far from Lilith.

She felt the engine start and the car move back along the beaten path. In her mind it was hardly a road as the car bounced along back to the main road. Amy banged her head back against the seat feeling ignored but Uriel and Gabriel were protectors and she was just a child in thier eyes.

one day I am going to grow and then you will see I am not a baby Amy thought as she waited to get back home.

Doc sat quietly, waiting. His mind just sort of went places; he didn't direct it there, or even "reach out" for this person or that. His mind simply went. And in his patient way, he went with it. He realized he was tied to more of humanity than just his children, though everywhere he went had something to do with them.

For example, right now he was seeing through the eyes of a bar-keep, passing out shots of bad vodka and even worse whiskey, and the worst yet, moonshine. The bar-keep was, well, hm, the best way to describe it would be . . . uncertain. This particular bar-keep did not often feel like this; in fact, he was rarely sober enough to "feel" at all. But he had seen someone; some "thing." While Doc wasn't sure which child he had seen, he had defintely seen one of them. Doc was pleased.

He waited. It was all he could do. Any attempt on his part to "will" anything or "do" anything brought him immediately back home. He would get where he wanted to soon . . . he "traveled" next to the driver of a car, watching a car with two largish men drive by in the other direction, a small child in the back. Gabriel, Uriel and Amy, Doc realized. He didn't recognize anything else, so he didn't know where they were driving. But they were driving. Out of the house. Chroma probably knew that already, but if not, Doc was sure he would soon.

Finally Doc felt a settling feeling, his mind reaching Lilith's. He knew it was Lilith. She was mad, but thrown off, and, oddly enough, horny. It was good to know that she could be relied on for at least that much. Many a night had Doc thought about Lilith, about the curves of her body, of what it would be like were she to touch him. He noticed that he was starting to get hard, responding emotionally and physically to Lilith's feelings. And as he crashed across space back into his body, a result he could not avoid given the increasingly hard member growing inside his pants, he realized one more thing: Lilith was not only aware of him being inside her mind, she was aware of some of his thoughts.

As he sat in his chair, unmoving, unable to move, he mused over this development. She could feel not just his immediate thoughts, his current ones, but had somehow managed to feel his deeper thoughts, his need, his plan. He would have to think carefully before he went wandering again if this would be the result. Knowing, however, that Lilith was horny, he was quite tempted to try to reach out again, but this time to try to get into Michael's mind. He would have to try to control it, at least this much, by choosing his ultimate destination. At least if he couldn't make love to Lilith directly, perhaps he could hitch a ride with the man who could . . .

Keeping Watch

Raphael's ice blue eyes practically glowed in the dark as he stayed perched on the rooftop of the cabin. His eyes swept the horizon and the forest for any signs of unusual activity. Suddenly he felt something odd.......He looked over towards the North and his powerful eyes spotted a car, just sitting there.

As his eyes fell upon the car he knew immediatly who occupied it. Raphael suddenly felt sharp pain that lanced through his head, spreading all the way down from his wingtips to his toes. This always happened when Raphael thought about the "Good Doctor". Raphael stared intently at the car as it sat there ideling. A frown passed across Raphael's face as he wondered..

Why isn't he making a move? Was Chroma near? When would the others be back with Amy?

All these questions raced through his head. He didn't like the fact that Uriel and Gabriel had seperated Amy from Lilith. They were easier to protect when they were together. He worried about the two girls the most, for he knew exactly what the Doctor had planned for them if he ever found them. Especially Lilith.

As Gabriel drove and Amy sulked, Uriel dug through the bag.

Mostly it was cheap crap. Saturday night specials, a couple of old-surplus .45's from before the Army switched to the Beretta. A sawn of shotgun. That was a dangerous weapon and Uriel automatically put it to the side of the bag for Gabriel and the others. They'd be the ones attacked by Chroma - they'd need the big guns.

He stook out a .45 and a couple of clips of ammo. It wasn't much, but Uriel knew it would have to do. He couldn't drain the others of resources. He took a long knife out of the bag on impulse and shoved it into his belt, tucking it out of sight.

Then he loaded the .45, cocked it, put the safety on and tucked it out of sight. He'd seen all these things done on TV and he was glad to see that the reality seemed to match up so far.

Amy drifted back into a sleep as the car moved. She didn't want to sleep it just came over her like a sledge hammer.

The table was pristine and white lights shimmered to the center of the room where the exam table was waiting for the patient. Amy was forced into the room and the iv's were in place, the mask set over her face and the flow of gas causing her eyes to slowly droop. The voices spoken around her floaty and songlike.

"Will she remember?"

"Only time will tell but when she does, her clock will be ticking and then she'll be one powerful entity, capable of a holy army"

Amy woke up and shivered as she banged the door, beating on it with her hands as her wings began to flutter against the seat. She needed out and needed it now and the fact that the car was moving didn't matter.

Doc sat. Nothing seemed to be happening. Where was Chroma? Why couldn't he connect with Lilith, or anyone who was anywhere near the children? He took a deep breath, and settled in to try again.

Confronting the Past

Raphael stayed at his post for a while, his eyes glued to the car. He couldn't take it anymore, his mind was flooding with painful memories and that came from just staring at the Doctors car. He was reluctant to leave Michael and Lilith unprotected, but he knew what he had to do.

Raphael spread his expansive wing span and took several steps across the roof then took off in flight, soaring silently through the dark night sky. It felt like the night was getting darker the closer he came to the doctors car, as if the moon was fading away, afraid to shine upon what was about to happen.

His gaze never left the idling car as he approached. Raphael landed silently a ways away from the vehicle, the ground was cold as he tread upon it, sneaking stealthily upon the man who had made him a social outcast, a veritable leper. With every step closer Raphael felt feelings welling up inside himself that he had not felt in a very long time.

Raphael kept his wings tucked behind him as not to reflect any light that would tip of the doctor. He was getting very close now, and the doctor had not yet seen him. He seemed to be in some kind of trance, a daze of sorts. Raphael crept up on the car, hunched down until he moved infront of the hood of the car.

It was then Raphael stood up, straightening to his full height, allowing his wings to spread again. He locked his ice blue peircing gaze on the doctor, saying nothing for a moment then.......

"Hello Doctor." he said but two words but in those two words he'd managed to convey every feeling he'd ever had towards this monster of a man.

Doc sat for awhile in his office chair, staring at the cold, blank wall, paralyzed. His consciousness -- or whatever it was that went out there without his body -- had slammed back into his body when that child had spoken to him.

He had been waiting, bored really, with nothing much happening. But then, patient as always, he had finally connected with someone near the children, someone in a car. If he could have moved, he would have smiled, because he had controlled that person. He had made that person drive to the house. Sit there. Watch. Waiting for Chroma or whatever. That person had wanted to leave, sitting there in their car. They were supposed to be at a birthday party for their 4 year old daughter. But Doc had managed to stop them, to control them. So whatever it was he was doing, whatever connection he had to the children, it was growing stronger.

And then that child had come, and had called the man whose body he was controlling "Doctor." Why did that child think that Doc was actually there? How did he know Doc was even involved with that person? Doc pondered it. Did the people he took over actually look like him? Was his shadow, his power, so strong? This time the corners of his lips did turn up a little, just a little, at the thought . . .

sorry for the short post, sorta wrote out Luke

Michael sat Luke down on the couch, handing him the bat. "Look just stay here for and watch the door. Lilith and I need to go and board up the windows upstairs, if you need us call." Michael took a hold of Lilith's hand and took her back upstairs to her room. The breeze comming in thru the broken glass. "I don't think Luke took the recent account of whats going on here too well."

Gabriel, Amy, and Uriel should be back soon. They better be back soon, he didn't want them out too long. Who knew when Chroma would be back. When he would bring the doctor. Michael hugged Lilith in her room. "Whats happening? Everything was so normal this morning, and now here we are again, fighting for our lives."

Lilith had dressed quickly and moved down the stairs silently following Micheal. When finding out it was Luke she stood there silently. She held Micheal's hand as they moved back upstairs. She didn't know what to say to him, her own mind not wanting to work in time with her mouth.

She only hugged him close and shook her head. "I don't know Micheal. Believe me if I could have it some other way, I would. She kissed his lips gently and moved away, starting to pack her things up. "Think we could move some of my stuff into your room and then board up the door?" she asked looking back at him as she tried to settle her thoughts.

Uriel watched Amy freaking out and Gabriel resolutely driving. He had no idea where they were going, nor how long it would take to get there - he hated being prisoner to the whim of others!

Leaning over the gap between the seats he tried to calm Amy, although without words it was difficult. Why was she being so hard to deal with - and why would she want to return to that deathtrap of a house?
