Amy went with Gabriel and gasped as they burst into Lilth's room. The broken glass caught Amy's attention first, followed by the hurting Michael. Amy burst into tears and knelt down next to Michael. His nudity seemed unimportant in her mind as she shed golden tears over his body.

Please don't be hurt bad.. get up Michael.. get up Amy thought. Please say something to me.. I do not want to see you buried

Amy looked back at Gabriel and signed Why

Gabriel shrugged his shoulder back at Amy. He knelt down and lifted Michael from the floor, then placed him onto the bed. "What the Hell happened here? Are you O.K. Michael?" He knew they couldn't exactly call an ambulence. It was times like this he wished to God that he wasn't a freak and was living a quiet, normal life.

Doc climbed back into his car. He had seen it all. Chroma on the roof of the house, the smashing of the window. He drove home.

He was tired. The dream when he had heard the song, that rememberance of a happier time. It was too much. He longed for normalcy, for a regular life. For life at all.

Yes, he was tired, but Chroma needed him. And he needed Chroma. That reason to live, that reason to keep on, regardless of what everyone thought. He wished and wished that he had not let Dr. James lead him down this path, this path to what in his former life he would have considered evil. But he had gone down that path.

"Is there any salvation for the devil?" he wondered darkly as he headed for the school and the faithfully waiting Chroma.

Chroma was gone and Michael sounded like he was hurt badly, judging by the commotion upstairs. Uriel watched the blood drip from his gashed forehead onto the table - he was sat waiting for it to clot before he got up to do anything energetic.

It sounded like Gabriel was alright at least. And if Gabriel wasn't panicking then that meant that Amy was fine. He hadn't heard anything from Lilith yet - which meant she was either fine or else very badly hurt indeed. But it sounded as if Chroma had wanted to take his frustration out on Michael rather than Lilith.

Uriel waited. The first aid kit was down here. Sooner or later they'd move Michael here and everyone would gather around the table to make plans. Until then he'd stay out of the way.

OOC: ok So I have to get back to the school. I was actually planning on treating myself in the wild, Sort of show off a little bit of Survival knowledge and Chroma's preadtory Instincts. But I guess It's better. Troops come in to report.

IC:Chroma flew back to his Tree. Where he had stashed the Gun and Duffel. He tried to fly again but he couldn't lift all the equipment. He scanned the area before folding his wings painfully around him, and Putting on his shirt and overcoat. He rooted for a moment before putting on his hat. Finally he took out a wallet and redid the Duffel. Moments Later he was walking slowly down the High Way With Black streaks on his Face Smelling of cordite and looking like the dead. It didn't take long for a pick-up truck to stop. Holding his thumb out Hitch style and 250 dollars.

"What Happened to you, man" The concerned motorist asked "you part of them military maneuvers the militia pull?"

"Nah" Chroma said Surprising calm and measure. "I was going hunting and made a mistake. Had a misfire and broke a window. My ride isn't working so I need to get to a hospital. Or If I could into the city. That would be awesome.

"Yeah I'm taking up there to see my kids." the man said while eyeing the bills. "And I'm sure we can make an arrangement. Can't be calling the insurance over a busted window and a Misfired Rifle. That'd be just terrible Probably cost you 500 on top of everything. But seeing the good samaritan I am, I'll drop you whereever you need to go. Take you right to the door of Beth Israel. Even pick up some food along the way. Big man like you must need some vittles."

Chroma smiled. It was always easy. "I'll just get in the back something tells me I wouldn't fit up front. Maybe we could stop get some Mickie D's." Chroma peeled off bills while talking and gave them to the man "Just no chicken; ok? Gives me a bad feeling I eat chickens."

Chroma climbed up top with a very easy grace that disturbed the driver. But laid down. In a bit, and with some discomfort to to a rocky road, Chroma Was eating his fourth quarter pounder and going back to the schoo. Of course he wasn't foolish enough to tell the man the location, He got off next to a run down school close by. He marked the liscense plate. Then walked home and waited patiently on the friendly operating table. Face down, Wings stretched magnificently Chroma waited for the doctor. He picked at some of the larger shards in his Face, dislodging some and twisting others. Chroma hoped that this time there'd be anasthetic to go around. It hurt bad. And he could tell it would become worse.

Michael lay between Lilith's legs, kissing her soft thighs as she panted trying to catch her breath. Her hands loosened their grip on his own, while his slowly slid down along the side of her body. The lingering taste of Lilith's orgasm resting on his lips. "That was...amazing Micheal..." Lilith breathed as she pulled him up and kissed him on the lips. Laying atop her slightly his blood engorged cock rested against that which he was enjoying. They kissed passionately for a short while as Lilith tasted herself on his lips. Grinning as she whispered into his ear, while her hand moved down to gently stroke him as he began to move to lay on his back. "Mmmm, I think you should."

Without any warning at all the windows to the room burst in. Glass shards flying thru the air as Chroma crashed into the room. Michael moved as quickly as he could to cover Lilith's body from the flying shards but was caught offguard by a back hand from Chroma. Michael stood in in front of the bed, his chest heaving as the adrenaline rushed thru his body. Michael was the strong of the two, but being caught off guard gave Chroma the advantage.

Chroma hadn't folded his wings yet and with a twist of his body hit Michael hard enough, that his dazed body was sent sprawling to the floor. The ringing in his head made it hard for him to completely understand what Chroma was saying. He heard "harlot" "Brother" "Good doctor" and "play." None of it made sense alone.

Michael attempted to get up from the floor and was kicked squarley in the stomach. Pushing the air from his lungs Michael fought to gain control of his breathing. He heard Chroma's voice as he continued to speak. This time about him. His head was still ringing from the punch to his jaw. His breathing was labored as he struggled to fill his lungs with air.

No sooner had Chroma appeared he left. Thru the same window he had come through. Michael lay on his back on the floor starring up at the ceiling, blinking slowly. What had happened. This day started out so wonderful. So nice and peaceful. And now, Chroma. CHROMA ! The doctor has found us. Michael tried to sit up and quickly fell back from the pain. Laying there naked on the floor.

Lilith jumped from the bed and knelt next to him "Are you alright?" He couldn't answer, he didn't know. She grabbed his clothes and tried to help him into them. Tears slid down her face, his mouth throbbed as the blood slowly trickled down the side of his mouth. Mixing with Lilith's juices still on his chin.

The door to Lilith's room suddenly burst open and in ran Amy and Gabriel. Michael looked up at them as he began to sit up. His nudity unaffecting them both. They were too scared to worry about that just yet. Amy shed tears as had Lilith. He could hear Amy in his head, his mind was fine, it was his body that was damaged. So he comforted her.

Don't worry child. I'm alright. My body hurts, but it will heal.

Gabriel knelt down and lifted michael up onto his feet. Helping him to the bed as he doubled over by the pain to his ribs. Coughing as his breathing slowly began to regulate Michael nodded. "Chroma. I'm okay. The doctor knows."

Uriel showed up with a gash to his forehead. He must have seen Chroma first. Michael sat up in the bed, sitting against the headboard above the covers, his body completely naked. Turning to set his feet on the floor. He tried to stand. Resting his hand on Gabriel's shoulder.

"The doctor knows we are here. Chroma is sure to tell him, if he hasn't already. We need to either be ready, or leave." Bending over quickly as he tried to straighten his back. The pain from his ribs not allowing him to. Michael turned toward Lilith and spoke "Are you alright my love?"

Gabriel raised an eyebrow. So it was that way with them... Still, that was less important than the direct future. His personal inclination was to run. He reached back and grabbed Amy's hand. "Go pack your stuff."

Lilith rushed to get dressed, ignoring the others. She didn't feel comfortable naKed infront of anyone, for her to have undressed for Micheal was a big step for her. She could feel the glass against her hands. They were bleeding as were her knees from kneeling beside Micheal when he had been on the ground.

She straightened up and looked up at him shaking her head. "We need to get you fixed up," she said softly as she couldn't meet the eyes of the others. "We need to bind your chest so your ribs heal correctly." she said gently not even able to meet Micheal's eyes.

Amy looked up at Gabriel then back to Michael and Lilth. She wasn't going to get her answer to why but knew that they had to do something new.

Amy tore off a part of her sleeve and wiped her tears and handed it to Michael. You know I care, place it on the blood.. it will help.... do not be hurt in deep.. I can't lose my family.. I won't...

"Go pack your stuff."

Gabriel spoke, she knew deep inside that he needed to be obeyed but she made a sign at him one that wasn't quite right We need more green men?

Doc reached the school. He could tell Chroma was already home. "Home," he muttered with a dark laugh. "Home," he repeated.

He moved quickly into the School, to the new supply cabinet he had recently acquired. Chroma went through glass, that must hurt, and he'll need attention. He was too brash at times. Doc thought about teaching him a lesson, fixing whatever wounds he had suffered without dulling the pain, but one look at Chroma lying on the table and this thought left his mind. He took the anaesthesia he had found, and gently began to administer the local anaesthetic to Chroma's wings. He spoke softly, encouraging Chroma to stay quiet and calm. There was so much glass, Doc wasn't sure how Chroma had flown. But he had. And now he was home.

Doc finished with the surgery, eventually administering a general anaesthetic to get at the glass and some wood that was deep within the wounds. Once Chroma came around, they would talk. The children would be on the move. Scared, unnerved perhaps, uncertain, but on the move. Chroma would need to find them, and track them, eventually leading Doc to them. He would need to stalk, but not attack, at least not all at once as he had done. One at a time, picking off those who strayed from the pack, but not going after the whole group.

He eyed Chroma on the table, starting to come out of the anaesthetic. He returned to his office and looked through his keys. He took two; the first gleamed in the light. This extra, to Chroma's "cage," had never been used. An extra he had never needed. The other was worn, dull, and even a bit dirty. He didn't think Chroma would mind; it was the key to the lock that Michael had taken with him when he had left. Somewhere, he was sure, Michael still had this chain and lock with him. What delight Chroma would get from locking Michael up again with the same lock and chain that Doc had used on him when he was here, in The School.

"Yes," Doc muttered, "he will enjoy that very much indeed."

Doc went back to the operating theatre to give Chroma his gifts, gifts Chroma had earned through devotion and faithful service.

"No, listen, we can't leave, we need to sit down and think about this. Gabriel, take AMy and go downstairs, find anyone you can and get them into the kitchen, we need to sit down and talk about this and what we're going to do. Understand? I'll bind up Micheal's chest and clean his wounds, then we will meet you down there." she said all of this in a no nonsense tone. One she knew everyone knew meant business.

Medicines and Lies. Chroma

OOC: I had a talk or two outside this and I'm posting a little speech from our doctor. All words are chroma's not mine, So while he has some twisted love please try to take everything in context. You may be family, but you all ran away from him. So he might not be too fond of all of you. But I'm not trying to be insulting. Just mean.

It was really Unknown how long Chroma waited. Twisting shards of glass out of his face. But the pain kept him awake. Blood dripped slowly on the floor. he had laid newspaper to collect it but was sure he would have to wash the bed down at least. Eventually the doctor came. It was slow but mercifully there was an anastethic. His wings dropped slowly, they were too heavy to support. Braces kept them up while the good doctor curt and sewed, Removing glass from almost 100 pounds of bone and muscle. chroma eventually passed out, Dreaming of being with a whole family. A good Family. With room to fly and cages to sleep. An Aerie to be his own.

He awoke to cold water. the cuts on his face were being washed. Likely to avoid infection. Chroma never seemed to get them, Nor did he get ill anymore. he supposed he had the Doctor to thank and he was grateful.

"Did you find them Chroma" The doctor asked when Chroma was up. "who was there"

"Runts Sir. Runts. Uriel the Bird, Amy the Lame. Lilith the.." Chroma stopped speaking then restarted. " No matter none of importance Save Lilith who I will bring back myself. Little Uriel will not stop me. Little Girl will not fly. How will she catch me. The lame, crawling on her belly on the earth. Lilith will leave will fall. I will return her home."

"Good Chroma and the others."

"What others?"

"There are More. Who will take them?"

"One at a time. I will bring them all. I will herd them before me."

"Good. I have a gift for you." The Doctor reached into his coat pocket and withdrew two keys. One shiny, One Dull. "This" proffering the shiny key, "Is the key to your cage. You may come and go as you please till they are returned. This" Handing Chroma the dull key "is the key to Michaels locks. that he took when he fled our care. I trust this special gift will be used to bring him back. In the same chains he wore here. In the chains he fled with. In the chains he will return. Chains he cannot break."

Chroma accepted the gift without question. Into Waiting cupped hands like manna from heaven, With a child's glee. this was a treasure a talisman against Michael. those chains would be terrible. Like A lodestone to the soul. Chroma laughed in cruel fits. He would terrorise them all.

Chroma stretched and went to sleep, in his cage. come morning he would bring maps. He would find them, and they would fear it.

Amy went with Gabriel back downstairs. She was looking for Zach and Luke so they could know what was going on in the wake of pain.

She kept watching the stairs for Michael and Lilth to come. Somehow Amy gleaned that they had done something that made Chroma even angrier.

All Amy could do was wait now until the rest came together.

Michael stood resting on hand on Gabriel's shoulder. Lilith didn't look at him, not even once. She avoided his eyes every time she spoke. Michael nodded towards Lilith as she offered to bind his chest. Amy had torn a part of her sleeve to wipe her tears. Taking the material as she handed it to him he pressed it to his lip. Soaking up the blood that was comming from the corner of his mouth. Michael heard Amy in his head once. He wondered if he was the only one who could communicate with her thru her mind.

Don't worry child, you won't lose your family. I won't let the doctor take us away. He hoped.

Lilith spoke up. Offering advice to stay in the house and talk this thru. Not making any rash decisions. They didn't have alot of time to talk. But he needed to get his ribs wrapped. And the few shards of glass embedded in his back taken out. He also needed to get dressed, he still stood in the room completely naked.

Both Amy and Gabriel went downstairs while Lilith took hold of Michael and helped him sit on the bed. She took his clothes and helped him gingerly into his clothes. It was a bit ackward. These two, had just earlier shared a moment of complete bliss and now they were again, running from the doctor.

Lilith looked up into Michael's eyes. Michael lightly touched her cheek. "Are you okay my love?" Michael ignored the pain and blood from his back. He was concerned for her. He wanted her to be okay. Needed her to be okay.

Nodding Lilith stood up and moved behind him. She removed the glass shards from his body and patted the blood dry with the material left by Amy. Michael stood up slowly, after Lilith wrapped a shredded piece of bed linen around his chest. He walked with her down the steps towards the kitchen. The meeting place of the family. Michael tested his wings, unfolding them and extending them completely. His muscles were sore, but he could use his wings. Which was a good sign.

[Damn, beaten to it - editing]

Uriel listened as everyone gave orders. Some of them even made sense. Inside he was evaluating his ties to the group - had they become more of a liability than a help? Should he walk out the door, down the stairs and just keep going until he was free of them and Chroma both?

No. He'd enjoyed being here with everyone. Even with his rather outcast status amongst the family there had been some moments when he felt accepted, when he felt he belonged. They needed his help - he couldn't outfly Chroma but he was the only one who had a chance. Given the right circumstances...

Uriel heard Lilith's order to leave her and Michael, but he knew it stemmed from her heart more than her brain. Nonetheless he couldn't summon up the will to disobey her - not with that look on her face, so he simply pressed the First Aid kit from the kitchen into her hands and followed the others out.

The trout, abandoned by Chroma, sat in the corner of Lilith's room. Forgotten and entirely bereft of purpose.

Amy seen Uriel and rushed to him. She gave him a big hug, not revealing her reason for this tender exchange only releived that he was in one piece. Her eyes puffing and tiny tears falling from them as she pulled him to the table.

Uriel smiled boyishly at Amy, allowing her to drag him after her. He allowed himself to ruffle her hair affectionately, again wondering what it was about her that brought out the big brother in everybody.

Seeing her tears he wagged a finger at her, beeped her nose with it and then drying the tears from her cheeks. Soon they would have to make decisions, and Amy would kick herself if she wasn't composed enough to take a proper part in them.

Gabriel paced the kitchen for a few moments, not even noticing the exchange between Uriel and Amy. "This... We... We can't just stay here! What makes her think we can stand up against him? Even if we could, I'm not letting you..." He looked over and saw Uriel sitting with Amy, "..any of you, be in danger." He went to the pantry and dragged a large pastic tub out, then started to empty the cans from the pantry into it, not trying to do a neat job of it.

Lilith sighed and made her way down the stairs. The cuts on her hands had begun to clot, leaving nasty scratches on them, as well as her now covered knees. She walked behind Micheal, making sure he didn't fall.

"Alright, everyone listen," she said steadying her voice for a moment before continuing. "Chroma has found us, which means the doctor soon will, but if we rush out of her suddely we'll be easily spotted. We need to plan, pack up and plan, Right now it is not time for rash choices. We will fix up the house, set traps, make plans, we will not run. If we run, we will never stop." she said slamming her palm onto the table top, cracking it by accident.

Uriel watched Gabriel making plans to leave - he thoroughly agreed. The house was vulnerable and the sooner they got out and found shelter elsewhere the better.

Lilith was magnificent in her anger, strong and fierce and brave, and Uriel was almost swayed by her speech, but there was a problem.

Making a pistol shape with the fingers of the hand that wasn't wrapped around Amy's shoulder, he pointed it at Lilith and mimed the recoil of a firing gun. Then he shrugged.

Amy looked to Gabriel and Uriel. In her heart they seemed to be level headed and if Chroma could do this much damage to Michael who was the protector of them all what would he do to the rest of them.

Amy was no fighter and she knew that but only the Dr James knew how deadly that embedded gem could be and by never revealing the power to her or anyone else made it something to discover.

Amy felt her head start to hurt as the prospect of being dividing became clearer.

Mamma please She mouthed as her eyes glistened with golden tears. She was becoming afraid and for good reason as blood was still thick in the air around Lilth and Michael.

Uriel could almost taste the blood rage in the air between Lilith and Michael. From the way they stood he could see that their earlier rapport was broken, shattered by the traumatic impact that Chroma had made.

Their frustration at his interruption, anger at this betrayal and embarassment at their love being unveiled to their little family in this way was palpable and Uriel wanted to tell them as much. But a fight here would get people killed - most likely the fragile ones like Amy and himself - and Uriel was sorely afraid that they wanted to hold on to the good times here so bad that they would fight on that basis alone.

For the first time in his life he wished he could communicate that concept - but he couldn't. Instead he looked to Gabriel - hoping that he would spot all this and speak plainly to the unhappy couple.

Amy glanced over at Gabriel and then moved to help him by moving can around to be packed evenly rather then lopsided.

She touched Gabriel's hand hoping that she could give him some comfort on his thoughts. Even despite her ever growing fear that something else was going to come from this attack. Even as Lilth mentioned Dr James, Amy couldn't help but think there was more then she was seeing.

OCC: The arguement is making good drama. It isn't personal. I'm just playing the game.

IC:

Gabriel watched Amy straightening out the cans and smiled a bit, in spite of the situation. He rounded on Lilith.

"Look, I don't want to keep running either. None of us do. How are you planning to fight back though? What if they return tonight? Do you have a gun? Do you know anything about commando tactics? I know I don't. We have been playing house, swimming in the lake, visiting the local grocer and just living the good life." Having sex entered his mind as well, but he knew that would just make her more upset. "If it were just us, I could see staying," though actually he couldn't, "but what about Amy? Do we lock her in the basement, so that they the doctor is done killing or enslaving the rest of us, he can go after her? You know what he is capable of. Sure, his whole complex got destroyed, but who knows what he has been up to since then? The man is a genius; a evil bastard, but a genius. If he hasn't already recruited new guards, or... new angels, how do we know he won't have some new weapons worked up? I've got a baseball bat. What do you have?"

Michael had made it down the steps slowly. His right hand was on the railing, while his left was wrapped lightly around his ribs, craddling the pain. Lilith followed behind him. As they entered the kitchen there was Gabriel packing up canned goods in a plastic tub. Amy was crouched near trying to pile them neatly. Uriel sat at the table. He was often the loner of the family. But they were a family still. Loner or not, they all looked after each other.

"Alright, everyone listen," Lilith said. "Chroma has found us, which means the doctor soon will, but if we rush out of her suddely we'll be easily spotted. We need to plan, pack up and plan, Right now it is not time for rash choices. We will fix up the house, set traps, make plans, we will not run. If we run, we will never stop."

Lilith had slammed her hand down on the table, cracking the edge of it by accident. The doctor had a way of making people angry. A way of making them do things they didn't want. Even when he wasn't around. Michael agreed they should do anything rash. But staying around might not be the best idea. Neither would be fleeing. It was the middle of the day. Someone must have seen Chroma on his flight over. A few of the curious populace would be comming by soon.

"We need to make a choice." Michael spoke his voice not that same as he struggled to breath with his bruised ribs. "How much longer can we run? Are we going to stand up to the Doctor ever? Your right Gabriel we don't have much to defend ourselves with. But we do have the house. We have each other. If we stick together and work on this as a family. We will win. Chroma caught me by surprise this morning. I will be ready next time." Michael tried to stand up straight. It took all his strength to stretch his muscles. "What we need is a plan. A strategy. Instead of trying to carry all these canned goods. Why not use them as projectiles. Instead of giving them access to the house from any window they see fit. Lets board them up, make them come at us from the way we choose. This is our house. Our Family. And the doctor will not have us again."

Michael's adrennaline was pumping again. He was angry that Chroma had showed up. That life once again called the doctor to play a part in it. He was angry that what Lilith and he shared would now be put on hold for the doctor. The doctor. No more. No longer will he haunt his dreams. Tonight would be the night that decided who would still have the dreams.
