I am shocked and angry for women in the U.S. If they decide to have an abortion they will, legal or not. Overturning Roe is about control and increased marginalization of people with less power and wealth than others. By attacking women's rights, conservative elites in the U.S. automatically hurt the poor, people of color, etc disproportionately. Well put. If the SC were indeed to rule that bodily autonomy (for some) is something that states can decide, it has some truly draconian implications for a whole lot of other presumed freedoms as well. I have a hard time seeing the legal logic that forcing a woman to carry a pregnancy to term and give birth to a child doesn’t violate her constitutional rights, or that her bodily autonomy is something that should be decided locally at the state level. Those are pretty similar arguments that southern states used to defend slavery. There is no way that this will have any positive impact on any segment of our society, and it will not “save lives” in any way whatsoever.

No, banning abortion is how they keep people working for ridiculously low minimum wages. Employers complain “no one wants to work,” but there are so many available jobs in America right now that nobody wants to work “for what they’re paying.” You ban abortions, you have women churning out future workers without enough jobs.

And this baby factory had its doors ligated and ablased two years ago, thank goodness.
