Will the "S" bomb become more infamous than the "F" bomb?

No details yet, but the dog is watching Fox News in the other room and they're saying that Theresa Hines Kerry told a journalist to "shove it."

Who wants to bet that this moment of petulance from a candidate's wife will be more controversial than when the VP told a senator to f**k himself?

She didn't say where, did she? Perhaps it was an invite?

"it was a rag"

her spokesman said. Apparently they have a history.

Hillary said, "You go girl"

this is fun

Damn, I have respect for this woman already. Who wouldn't want to tell a journo to shove it at some point?

At any point!

Oh.

Well, the people writing the columns are all journalists, aren't they? Remember Sean Penn punching the dude with the camera? Well, that's how come you remember it.

I say this is what the campaign is really for, this time! Bush's kids drinking and disgracing themselves, Kerry's family cursing out papparazzi. Very very important, people, get out an extra on this one!!

This is every bit as substantive as the rest of the campaign talk. Can't address issues, you'll alienate someone! If you never hit any of the issues, you leave everyone with a sort of anomie, though.

I think it's a lot different than Cheney. Cheney said it to a colleague without the media around. She said it to the media.

Her big problem is that she was wrong. She did use the term un-American in her speech. I'm glad she had the courage to stand up to the media. They need ego checks. I just wish that she would have been right about the argument she was making. It would have helped her out immensely.

What is truly pathetic is that after Cheney dropped his F-Bomb, I saw dozens of news stories about it. A few mentioned that it was in response to a Senator accusing him of corruption. Almost all discussed what effect it would have on the election. Not a single one of them talked about whether those charges of corruption were true. Not a single fucking one.
What passes for journalism in this country is a fucking disgrace.

It was more than a rag. it was the Washington Times, the uber-right-wing rag owned by the billionaire who paid low-life flunkies to invent the Troopergate story and various Clinton-as-rapist-murderer stories.

Pat Buchanan is shocked! For a potential first lady to use that kind of language doesn't bode well for this convention.

I'm not sure which word he finds most offensive: "Shove?" Or "It?"

It's worse than that, The. It's a shoving disgrace!

Yes, she was in fact wrong, but the majority of Americans, IMO, will instinctively know that she was right. Journalists are at least as hated as politicians in this country. Personally, even as a part of me cringed at her repeated statements that she never said un-American, the larger part of me was gleeful that she told the guy to shove it. :D Simply because I've waited so very long for somebody, anybody to say that while being grilled by the press.

BILL RULES! What incredible joy he takes in speaking to a crowd. Let me hear an Amen!

The man could lead a nonviolent overthrow of the government tomorrow if he wanted to. No wonder women line up to bl

Oops. I meant, no wonder women like to blow up balloons for the convention hall when he's going to speak.

Given the fact that the supposedly liberal media are in fact Bush administration lap dogs, I'd imagine that you are correct. This is akin to President Clinton's personal indiscretions being exagerated into a matter of earth shaking importance--and a reason to squander +$60 million of taxpayer money--while Shrub's lying in order to send the nation into war as part of his family's vendetta against Saddam Hussein has been glossed over.

Vendetta, schmendetta. We're in Iraq because Cheney wanted us there. Dubya is a hand-puppet.

Here's my fear: As we speak, party insiders are trying to replace Cheney. He's done his duty to the Top One Percent, Halliburton, Bechtel et al, and polls show he's ballast on the ticket now. If he can be convinced to go gracefully, for his health ostensibly, and they replace him with McCain, Bush will take a bounce in the polls that even marrying his mother on the Tonight Show won't bring down before November. I would have been willing to overlook McCain's unwavering right-to-life stance if the two-party ticket had gone beyond the fantasy stage, but only to get rid of Dubya. As Dubya's VP, he's a shoo-in for election in 08 and no matter what I might like about him, he's as big a danger to women's rights as GWB.

Clinton's speech made my eyes water. Oh, the nostalgia for a smart president.

Well of course we're in Iraq at the behest of The Carlyle Group, the masters of both Bush and Cheney--The Saoud family, and other shadowy oligarchic interests. I'm a firm beliver in following the money (as with 9/11... who benefited?) However, it's pretty clear that Bush had a personal vendetta against Saddam. Curiously, the Bush family seems to eventually turn on all of their former partners in crime once they've exhausted their usefulness e.g., the taliban, Noriega, Bin Laden and Saddam.

The fact that he tried to kill my father and my wife shows the nature of the man. He's cold-blooded. He's a dictator and he's a tyrant...

This from the monster who's thus far sacrificed some 900 working class Americans to his lust for blood and oil.

I'm actually reading Clinton's autobiography at the moment. Its really rather good, though I haven't got to the Monica bit yet...

Have you seen the book? Its HUGE...

I cheated. I looked for Monica in the index while sitting across the street from the book signing.

Yes, the index.

Warning: if you're expecting a chapter about their impetuous affair, you might as well arm-wrestle Monica for the M&Ms, because she's barely a footnote. Poor dumb girl. What is it with women and their addiction to Bad Childhood Men, anyway?

As a Bill fan, I didn't want to know any more than I already did about that episode. As a reader, I knew better than to expect a chapter devoted to Bill Junior's adventures under the desk.

But as a woman, I felt badly for her. How many ways can one woman handle having Her Star-Crossed Love Affair exposed as His Afterthought?

I have been accused of having a suspicious mind and of being cynical. Of course neither is true. I am very open minded and trusting.

But just for the sake of argument, although no one is arguing, you don't think Kerry could have been provoked on purpose to elicit a response that might counter Cheney's outburst do you?

Nah. Ol' Sun Myung Moon wouldn't do anything like that. No wonder people think I'm a cynic.

Shame, Teach, shame.

Teach, here's one for you:

What if their marriage was arranged by Rev. Moon, but John Kerry doesn't know it?

What if her first husband was murdered by Moon's goons?

What if Kerry isn't the only high-profile Democrat whose wife is a Moonie spy?
