I feel as though Will is taking the fact that Chris Rock doesn’t want to talk to him into account. He’s putting his message out to Chris and the public anyway -regardless of what anyone says- because he feels like he’s ready to move on with his life.

If that had of happened in the street by a non celeb the person would have been arrested. He needs to pay the price for his actions

Do I think his speech was scripted and written by a team of public script writers? More than likely.

Apparently the cops asked Chris if he wanted to do anything and Chris said no.

In the U.K. he would have been arrested and charged without Chris pressing charges. The evidence of assault was there to be seen

Chris Rock didn’t file a report. Will slapped him. We all saw it.

It wasn't a sincere apology, it was image damage control and pure PR and Chris Rock will see right through it.
I hope that most of the public does too since his actions were too deliberate to have been driven by anger.
He was driven by his woman and I've lost any small amount of respect that I had for her as a person.
As a group, they are all talented, but now I'm not really sure where they are on the class scale.

I know I sound tin hat, but I'm still convinced this was staged. I know there's the school of thought, why would he risk his career, but people in Hollywood have done far worse than this and their careers have never slowed down.

As for the act itself staged or real, I am all for chivalry and sticking up for your woman...but not that woman. She's banging his son's friends and making a fool out of him, not to mention being a raging bitch in general

As for her "awful' hair disease...she can spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on wigs. Women who go through chemo who have no money walk around with no hair. Fuck her, and fuck this trash culture.

The sickest fucks in the country can be found in three places. Hollywood, Washington, and sitting in church pews.

I have to agree that that was my reaction upon first seeing it that it was a stunt, so I don't think it's too tin hat.

We don't duel anymore. Will and Jada should have made use of their fawning and compliant press to go after Rock or maybe better, launch a nuisance civil suit and get her condition into the news, garner some sympathy and let public opinion put Chris in his place as more cad than comedian.

I'm going to disagree about the church comment. I see too many good and charitable works in my community to come to that conclusion; to me church is a net good (and I am an Atheist).

What message did Will send to his son?
If someone says something you don't like, go slap them?
Also, would Will have jumped up and slapped, oh, say, Titus or the real Rock?

Will Smith makes an emotional appeal to casting directors and film producers to give him more work

Too little, too late. He can go hang out with Charlie Sheen and do some serious winning. :)

When is Rock gonna realize that disabilities are not funny, and apologize?

Disability?! I don’t think so. That’s a slap in the face to people who are actually disabled.

According to the World Health Organization, disability has three dimensions:1

  1. Impairment in a person’s body structure or function, or mental functioning; examples of impairments include loss of a limb, loss of vision or memory loss.
  2. Activity limitation, such as difficulty seeing, hearing, walking, or problem solving.
  3. Participation restrictions in normal daily activities, such as working, engaging in social and recreational activities, and obtaining health care and preventive services.

Will was also laughing, until Jada gave him the death stare.
I don’t like her and her holier than thou attitude.
I don't know any of these people, but that's irrelevant. You don't make fun of people with conditions they have no control over. Both men have something to be ashamed of and apologize for. So far, only one has owned his shit.

G.I. Jane, who Rock referred to regarding Jada, is badass and hardly "disabled." Quit being a fucking idiot.

Well, Chris should of left his wife's name out of his fucking mouth!

Where Smith did it and the way he did it was stupid. It was stupid in any place, really. But, Rock makes fun of people for a living. He is known for taking it to the edge. It's his shtick. He pisses people off. No one deserves to be assaulted, but if you keep pressing, something will eventually snap. And, Rock isn't playing some victim either. He handled it like most of us would, brush it off. I doubt he wants an apology from Smith, I know I wouldn't want one. Fuck that guy. Let him scramble for his career because he was an idiot. It's done nothing but put Rock in a good light.
