Before anyone says GAY basher. I'm have nothing against the lifestyle. It just seems to me that when I've stopped the TV clicker on the Fashion channel, the people are all gay.

Does this mean that non gay people can't create fashion? Or is it that straight people aren't drawn to the industry? I don't know, you tell me.

Disclaimer: NOT ALL ARE GAY, just seems like alot are. Ok now enlighten me.

Maybe they feel it more acceptable to be gay and talk about womens clothes and fabrics and designs....

I don't know If I'd watch a show with Bubba the lumberjack talking about plunging necklines and decollage.

ok

cause they are the best dressers...duh.

I'll maybe go along with that, but why are they the best dressers? Is that a fem thing, and if so how does a gay person become so good at fashion? I've seen many men well dressed but they aren't gay. maybe it means that their SO dresses them, I don't know.

Thanks for the response

Most of my gay friends are older, and not into the fashion scene. Or rather, are into the fashion world of 20-30 years ago. Turtleneck sweaters and tweed jackets, mismatched dress slacks...that kind of thing.

It might just be that being a designer is one of those professions where it's acceptable to be open, and therefore draws in like minded people.

Then again, I could be completely off my kitty rocker...who knows?

I made them that way. I have that effect on men.

and God comes down in all Her splendid glory and speaketh devine words that shed light untoward Her majesty. we weap in the presence of Her almighty divinity.

AAAaaaAAAaaaAAAaaaMEEEEEeeeeen.

I've worked in the Fashion, Hair and Theatre industries for various reasons over the years and I can't answer the question. But to say there are plenty of men that work in those industries that are not gay :)

Is it just me or does nothing that gets worn on the catwalk ever get worn in real life? If not, whats the point.....

Sorry Vivacia, that last post was my thoughts - you hadn't logged out!

Short answer.

They're not,but they probably sell more clothes if people think
they are.

No,I don't know why that should be.

I suspect that it might be fashionable campness rather than definite homosexuality.

Like with those unwearable clothes, designers might be acting up to get noticed. The same designers produce other designs much more suited to real life.

Thanks

Thank to you all for attempting to answer this question. I have always been interested in this observation.

I guess i can conclude so far, that Gay men perhaps are more in touch with Fashion then straight men. We straight guys aren't interested in fashion as deeply.Hmmmm

This is so weird. I do agree Vivacia that I don't see much worn in real life that is on the catwalk. Or is that because i don't live in NY or San Fran? Do they wear them there?

Yes very interesting indeed.

You all have been very kind to answer. Thank you. I am still interested in more opinions.

Enjoy the day. :)
