Why does my gag sting my tongue?

Hello,

I have a question that in my opinion would work better in How To but they always bitch at people to send anything kinky to the BDSM forum so I'm just going to start out here.

Now, the last time I used my ballgag it didn't do this, but last night I was sort of playing around and put my ballgag in my mouth and jesus, it started to make my whole mouth tingle, especially my tongue, in a BAD way. It was intense. It would have been horrible if I'd been bound and that thing had been placed in my mouth for a purpose instead of just sitting there for my personal pleasure.

Why did it do that? What can I do to make it better? I do hope to use it again some day and I hope that when it's put in and tightened behind my head I won't be focusing on some weird thing going on with my tongue while more interesting things might need my attention.

This is the gag I have. The black one. The smaller size. I've had it about 7 months. Just wanted to give as much information as I could about it.

Well, I don't know but it sounds like maybe you've developed an allergy to this type of plastic/rubber.

Had you eatten anything or had anything in your mouth before you did this?

I'd give it a few days, try it again and see what happens.

Like ADR says, it sounds like an allergy, if not to the rubber, perhaps to what you use to clean it.

I hadn't eaten anything or had anything in my mouth beforehand...

this is shitty news ><

Odd question...

When it did the tingly thing, had you actually tightened it into place? Or did it do that before you even had it in place?

Is it possible that without realizing it you pinched something that resulted in the mouth version of pins and needles?

I dunno -- I don't have one myself (unfortunately) but I'm just tossing out alternatives. It'd suck if you were allergic to it. :(

If you had eatten (and you say you hadn't) anything prior to using it, it could've been interacting with the material in the gag. And if you're keeping it clean, and I'm sure you are, then we can rule that out.

It could be a fluke and like I said, try it again in a couple of days and see what happens. Have you ever had an allergy to latex? Sometimes that transfers to other allergies, too.

Don't give up yet, doll. ;-)

Oh and P.S. I missed Catalina's post and she could be on to something there, too.

ive had that before with a pecific type of rubber (not sure what it was)... try a gag made out of something else. if it happens again, mabye its phycological

Have you tried giving the whole gag a nice hot bath with some antibacterial soap? That might help!

Some people wrap their ball gag or rubber bit gag with saran wrap to eliminate that rubber taste. But, make sure the saran wrap is tight. Don't want it to work loose and cause choking or asphyxiation.

From a safety aspect, I actually prefer those ball gags which have the nice little holes all over to help prevent breathing and choking problems.

No, it started to tingle before I tightened it. Actually, in the last few months I've licked it and such just to toy with my last boy on webcam and it'd always tingled, but I thought it was just the taste... this time it makes sense to have been an allergy, though, 'cause it sort of made my jaw ache in an unexpected way as well. I would have assumed that it was just because of the position if it hadn't accompanied the funny, intense tingle.

I *do* have a mild allergy to latex. I can't use latex bandaids 'cause if latex sticks to my skin for more than 10 minutes or so, my skin starts to get REALLY irritated. I'm allergic to a lot of things, but none of that has ever mattered in my mouth... Does that seem really naive? I feel stupid. But, I'd used this gag a few times before, and it had never had this reaction. I know you can spontaneously come up with allergies, though... like to fruit. This is exactly what someone I talked to described about what happens when they eat cherries = (

That's how I wash it - with anti-bacterial super sensitive skin soap. I'm allergic to soap, so I don't fool around with it, heh... I tried rinsing the gag off pretty intensely yesterday to make sure there wasn't any soap on it that could have been causing this.

That's a fantastic idea. Thanks. $5 for a box of saran wrap vs another $35+ for a non rubber gag!

Lots of plastic can cause this. I find my mouth gets all weird feeling if I chew a yellow BIC pen. I wouldn't call it an allergy exactly but I think it is pretty nasty shit.

I'd invest in a new ball gag. The saran wrap option has serious risk written all over it.

I once used a Jelly Style dildo, was my favorite toy even and suddenly (after about a year) developed what I believe is an allergy to it. Don't ask me how. I'd always kept it very clean, but I got the tingling sensation you describe and it became very painful and sore. Got rid of it. I've thought about buying a new one, because I did prefer the feel of it, but I'm afraid of confirming my allergy fears.
