Why does eating make me sleepy?

I think it has something to do with a higher percentage of blood being diverted to the stomach muscles to move along the digestive process, so there's less of it for other systems, which means less oxygen circulating through the body's cells, or something like that. I used to know all this kind of stuff when I was still teaching...now my brain is getting a bit mushy.
