He was ok.....nothing he did was particularly impressive in skill from either a guitar or even a musical perspective.

Not that it was bad, just that pop generally is not where you find most of your particularly skilled or even virtuoso musical talents.

Especially with guitars.

IMO/E prog-metal and occasionally Jazz is where you'll find most of your truly innovative, off the charts technically skilled, music for the more refined pallet of other musicians type shit.

I can think of a couple of country exceptions....some chickin' pickin' monsters out there like Johnny Higland, not really any pop performers. Most really good shit never goes pop because the mass's have shit for musical taste.
