An unanswerable question. Why? Simple: if you ask those who lie, "Why do you lie?"
What you're going to receive is a lie about why they lie.
If on the other hand you ask those who don't lie, "Why do those people over there insist on lying?"
What you will get is either a WAG (wild ass guess) or an 'I don't know' in return.
The best course of action is to find and remember those who do.
And like all things human it's not a black/white wrong/right type of thing, but a sliding scale. Everyone lies to some extent. The key is what do they lie about? If it's exclusively little inconsequential ( inconsequential in the sense that it was done to spare someone's feeling but does not strive to change the outcome of something major) things then it can be ignored. If however it is huge lies undertaken to hurt others or gain an edge on someone else for the purpose of gathering something of value to the liar at the lied to's expense, take note and remember who that was for you may be the next target.

You can also craft a lie to be endearing or evoke whatever other emotive response you want to create. Truth, on the other hand, is often bland and mundane.
It's interesting to see the usual suspects all jump on this bandwagon as if they believe that no one condemns this guy for the fakery. But then their usual schtick is to paint everyone with the same broad brush so it's not surprising to see them employ it once more and smear some more of their bullshit all over the place again.

There were several court cases where the network stars had to admit their show wasn't "news" and was in fact entertainment, a program that broadcast an opinion, not factual news. People seemed inclined and in fact insist on confusing one with the other. Why? Simple, conformation bias. They want to hear what they believe is true, rather than what is true. So it is easier on their personal bias to listen to someone saying what they agree with, rather than what is true, a high profile talking head's OPINION rather than factual news that might conflict with what they want things to be.
So how do we as fallible humans avoid that trap? If I hear something that conflicts with something I want to believe, I go look to see what else was said about it and what kind of truthful backup it has. The main thing though is when it is proven, when there is no doubt that what ever has been reported is, I have to step back, cuss a bit (because even though it is I still don't want it to be) and admit that what is, is. To many don't have the capacity or don't want to take that step, which is a bad thing for everyone, including themselves.
There once was an unwritten standard differentiating news, opinion and tabloid entertainment. In the competition for viewership by the broadcasters, in the race for the almighty $, the lines between those have all but disappeared. Until we get back to such, by agreement or law the P.T. Barnum gaslighting of the people will go on, for no other reason than to make a few bucks.
And before someone pops up with the accusation I'm trying to smear the Republicans, this is a problem experienced by both sides of the political spectrum. I've walked the planet for 14 Lustrums plus 2 years and have seen it vacillate from one political extreme, from one party to the other. NO ONE, NO PARTY has been immune to it. Time to demand those who should be telling us the truth to do so.

Suppression of the Hunter Biden laptop story was polled and indicate based on the poll results would have impacted the election results and not in Biden’s favor.

Tucker Carlson Tonight is the single highest rated cable news program in America. I’m pretty sure that he covered the southern border and Hunter Biden’s laptop once or twice.
So weird that I never watch Cuck Tarlson or any right wing outlet yet I have seen plenty of coverage of the southern border problems.

The orange traitor sabotaged a bipartisan deal that was on the table for immigration reform.
That ^ deal would have gone a long way towards mitigating many problems at the southern border, as well as providing some clarity on eligible DACA recipients.

There are parts of the border that don’t need to be covered, since the physical border is already difficult to pass. DJT tried putting some up in those spots, and they fell down. But sure, keep wasting money in spots that are difficult.
The mar-a-lago raid was news. Like Capone, it’s not all other things done by him- in this case it’s lying about classified documents that are sufficient.
And the Jan 6 committee is far from a witch hunt, lots of information gained. And noticed all of the words were from republicans in the hearings. Pretty damning. Insurrection charges upheld for individuals in some court cases but the Jan 6 committee is there to find out all they can- and they couldn’t since some witnesses have decided to invoke their 5th amendment rights or just not testify at all.

I appreciate someone finally attempting to answer the question.
I am a recovering addict. I will have been clean 36 years in one week. I have learned addiction is a spiritual disease. It says in our reading of how it works...there is one thing more than anything that will defeat us on our recovery. This is an attitude or indifference towards spiritual principles. Three of these (spiritual principles) are honesty, open-mindedness and willingness. With these are well on our way.
I know this to be fact. If I start deviating from the path of honesty...all spiritual principles in me start slipping. It is the "H" in "how". It is the First Step.
I harp on morality a lot, because I see this as the most dangerous thing our country is facing. We have lost our morality. People can't even be honest...because there are no consequences against it.
Look at Santos...today...he admitted he fabricated his resume. Yet he sees no issue to lying. Oops...I got caught. But that doesn't stop him from being able to represent a district in the US Congress. Why don't Republicans hold their members accountable? Fuck...we kicked out AL Frankin. Don't we deserve better? At least a fucking effort not to lie? Or...is our country truly doomed?
If a delusional person falls in a pool of Carbon based water in an alternate reality, does it make a splash???
