Why Do Dumb People Breed?

I've noticed that the dumbest people in the world are breeding more and more lately. I work in the Infant bedding department in my Toys R Us, and I have seen in the past week the dumbest people in creation comming in for cribs and bassinets. One man insisted that he could use a nassinet untill it was time for the toddler bed. One woman demanded that she get a free mattress with her crib because the crib was the display modle when it clearly said on the ticket (that I made myself) that the Mattress was not included....

Why are people so dumb?

Since they're buying infant bedding, they are first time parents. First time parents are struggling to swim upstream against waves of advice from every person they meet while still in awe of the changes occurring in their lives.

It's so nice of you to use terminology that equates them with animals. I'm sure that's just how they feel about their about-to-be-born child.

Same with Nate Newton...busted for the second time with a vanful of pot...but this time it was only 173 pounds..

Maybe we should administer income and intelligence tests and only allow those "qualified" to reproduce.

I've been thinking about that very idea for a good number of years.
Personally, I believe that it would be an excellent idea.

I had come up with what I called "basic needs" what are the basic needs we all have?
food, shelter, access to medical care, education.
Can you now or by a certain date provide your offspring with these basic needs?

I've done quite a bit of research in this area, as it interests me greatly.

Not to get off topic, however, I had read about different methods of administering contraception, the one I had found most interesting is that some sort of contraceptive device could be implanted at birth.

As a former retail employee, I have to tell you that when you deal with the worst aspects that society has to offer on a daily basis, it won't make a people person, quite the reverse.

That equates with literacy tests that were imposed on people(mostly blacks in a thinly veiled attempt at robbing them of the right to vote) afte rthe Civil War.

Hitler had similar ideas. After income and intelligence tests we could filter out other traits that those in power at the time might find objectionable.

Exactly!

There should be some sort of screening process before you are allowed to have a child.
You need a licence to do everything else...why not this?

Here's a idea I've been toying with for a while.

I've have seen where a certain type of people tatoo their children. Now, bearing that in mind, why not have business cash in on this?
you could pay the parents to have the children tattooed with their logo...a few ideas, condom makers...Trojan, Ramses, Durex...etc..
Not only does it help those who need it, the kids become walking advertisments, walking PSA's if you will.
It does not have to stop with the condoms... since alcohol is how a great many of us got here, why not beer and liquor ads as well?



To take this a step further..the Feds could pay these people to get sterilized.
Of course payment would only be rendered when sterility had been verified, of course.

I've expressed these ideas before and met with some support.
I find them to be quite innovative
honestly.
Forward looking, visionary perhaps.

It's a good idea.
I've seen it expressed before.
It's not bad really.

However, with all that I've been reading about gene therapy and genetics and now that they are going to start mapping the human genome, thats where it's all heading I think.
Of course you could do that in the colony I suppose.

As far as being aborted, I wish that my mother would have had the courage to get rid off me...to be done with me, it would have saved us all a lot of trouble, a lot of pain. However, this was during the pre Roe-v-Wade days and even if she would have wanted to she would not have been able to..legally anyway.
I rather doubt that she would have known anyone who could have pointed the way towards obtaining such services.

So, it is bad to equate what you propose with Hitler even though the ideas are rather similar. Those who forget the past are condemned to relive it.

Where an idea comes from (Germany or the USA) doesn't make it a good or bad one. just proof that we have our own skeletons occupying our closet.

Just one question, if we do degrade ourselves to the point of deciding who can procreate and who cannot, what individual or group gets to make the final decision? You? Me?

okay i'm really too tired to be attempting an intelligent post here so if this comes out as drivel please ignore.

dumb people have as much a right to children as intelligent people. less than intelligent parents can give rise to children who are quite bright and vice versa. in many many cases i think the problem is not that people are dumb, implying they are not capable of intelligent thought, but more like lazy, just not willing to apply their brains to the situation.

the other day i went into a music store. i was in a hurry, wanted to grab a specific cd, a gift card, and split. i walked straight to the counter and asked a clerk where i could find it. she rolled her eyes and pointed at a big display behind me. so i made a dumb mistake. i didn't take the time to look around and see what was right in front of me. please don't take my ovaries.
