I say that I disagree with you because I personally disagree with you, LT - not because I regard it as a sort of team sport. I think Ulaven is being just as ridiculous in that post as you're being in some of yours; indeed, the worst of it is that he really is a dead ringer for you in the last two lines. If it didn't have his name over it, I could never have told the two of you apart.

I don't feel it necessary to defend his post. I disagree with it. Similarly, I don't feel the need to disagree with you on everything you post simply because I think you've been an ass about some specific things. I'd rather look at the ideas and the way they're presented and see what I think of them.

I've talked about it with a few friends, and none of them has had any difficulty predicting the outcome of the events. Many of them were surprised that you weren't set up for something more dramatic, like arrest or ambush. None of them could imagine a rational and intelligent person making the decision to drive out there - not from fear, but from the very obvious near-impossibility of your challenger showing up.

If his challenger had been as angry at LT as LT apparently was at him, the result would likely have been, as you said, some sort of ambush. If not, he would probably simply not show up, which seems to have been the case. Either way, a dangerous waste of time and money, and a mystery why any sane person would do such a thing.

Well, he pretty much painted himself into a corner with a several-month-long prelude of "I'm so gonna kick your ass" exchanges with the guy. He had so completely endorsed the idea that this "showdown" would resolve everything, show him to have been in the right, and finally gain him respect on Lit, that it had to be incorporated into his disjointed value system somehow.

He's probably secretly embarrassed by it now, but he can never admit that.

It's fact that LT has constantly trolled Recidiva off and on for more than a year (likely closer to two), even long before this current crusade, and it is fact that ignoring him doesn't even slow down his constant bullshit, but in fact encourages him to intensify his idiocy claiming that his assertions must be true because she isn't denying his fabrications.

It's not ridiculous at all, it's a proven tactic he's used at every opportunity. A few minutes of reading his posts in any number of threads will show this to be true. Ignoring him and refusing to respond to him doesn't discourage him, quite the opposite in fact. Lack of response is taken by LT as a "win" and as admission. A lapse in time of even minutes between responses is enough to send him into the jitterbug all over the end zone.

As for your gloating implication LT, that I've somehow contradicted myself I'd love to see how, in pointing out that your response to being ignored (playing the peacemaker as Lady English put it) that I have contradicted myself in any way whatsoever. It's easily proven that ignoring you makes no difference in the number or veracity of your attacks. If anything, being the bigger person and ignoring your bullshit only makes you more strident.
