The GOP no longer exists, because they bought Trump's simple-minded approach to racist populism. In some areas of the USA, the GOP is irrelevant to elections, leaving a need for competing policy ideas.

Here in Arizona, we will be voting on whether to adopt an open primary initiative. Why should taxpayers pay for separate primaries for the Republican and Democratic Parties? What about independants and other candidates?

Under this proposed system, Democrats, MAGAts (or, what used be called Republicans), other organized Parties, AND indepenants would all run in a single taxpayer-funded primary. The top candidates would run in the general election.
