I don't agree. Based on this logic a person self-identifying as shy would have no area of their lives in which they weren't shy, and this person just does not exist. The shyness (social phobia, basfullness, whatever you want to call it) is present in one very visible area but not all others as well.
And by this logic, too, fat people would then be said by extension to all be suffering from lack of self-discipline, and it could be expected that this extends to all areas of their life. Thus they would be denied credit cards and mortgages based solely on their weight...and this does not happen.

I'm not sure that I follow you. What I was suggesting is that if a person is shy in a social area there is usually a reason for that. In many cases it's because they are afraid of being hurt. Perhaps because I used the word "excuse". In retrospect I find that the word isn't right. I personally don't think that there is anything wrong with being shy. It's just how people are. I actually prefer shy people to people who are all over you

Sure is. But it is a stereotype based on facts. Not all Sailor's wives cheat. But if you've been on a base when the fleet pulls out, the Filipina wives cheat the most. Why shouldn't they? They were groomed to be prostitutes at an early age. That is a main source of income for the poor near Military Base towns. The sex business.

The hookers work in the bars. The fleet arrives, and they hook a sailor. The fleet pulls out. Another fleet pulls in, and the hooker hooks another sailor. See the pattern?

We know that children that are victims of abuse are at risk of becoming abusers then they grow up. The cycle of abuse. Same thing happens with hookers in these poor nations.

They do meet woman who aren't prostitutes. If you really knew anything about life on a military base in a foreign country you would know that. A lot of the locals do other things besides run bars and work as prostitutes.

It's not an error at all. We are talking about hookers and the military. It doesn't matter where you are talking about rich or poor. They are all over, but they aren't the only women that service men meet no matter where they are whether that be Dusseldorf or Manilla. Oh and you might want to do a bit of research on Thailand and the Philippines. The folks there ain't so po' any more. Interestingly enough, Thailand has one of the best educational systems in the world.
