*GASP!* You CHEATED???!!!! HOW COULD YOU? I will have to think about forgiving you. ;)

yep, you will. Anything I can do to convince you I'm worth it? My first born? heh.

I don't think so. It was obvious that this student did not even read it before turning it in.

then they are both stupid.... fail them

I don't know about the firstborn bit. Unless you come with the firstborn. ;)

Ducky...I can't fail one of them. Not my class.

Both were high school seniors. One was doing a research paper on globalization and took the paper from the internet, and the other was doing a science research project.
so how is that different than getting the info from books?
Either way, they get the info.
Honor society? that doesnt mean the kids are honest. Chances are they cheated to get into that clique.

then make the responsible teacher aware of it.

no matter how you look at it, they both stuffed up and need to be taught they can;t do that.

stop it now before it really has a chance to ruin their academic career later on.

I don't find it funny. But I'm not on the outside looking in.
It's funny in a shaking-my-head way.
Honor students should know better. Makes you wonder how they got on the honor roll in the first place.

Stealing someone else's work word for word is ethical? Absolutely not. She learned nothing. And shouldn't students in an honor society be an example of what we are trying to teach is wrong and right? They fuck up once in a while, but these are seniors. They know that what they did was wrong...and illegal in the real world. In college they would have been expelled.

You answered your own question. Both are equally wrong, and a lesson should be learned now.

Actually, I've always known that I thought that. I was just wondering what other people thought.
