Is there a designated category or a category of best fit for a story that's formatted as a diary? Thanks.

If you want to categorise by "diary", Letters and Transcripts seems the best fit, or Novels + Novellas if it's long.

But unless you're trying to boost visibility by posting to a category you haven't already covered, I'd consider categorising it by themes rather than format. I've read many good stories that were told in diary format, but I've never logged onto this site thinking "what I really want today is a diary-format story, don't care what happens in it".

If I wanted to write about the world in which I write, the Priscilla-verse as it were, would this be a good place?
What's in your world, erotically? Letters and Transcripts is more a format space, rather than an erotic destination as such.

It would be more like “this is what this kingdom is, or here is a description of this god” sort of thing.

I would recommend focusing on the subject matter, first, and then the format. The key is to align the subject matter of your story with the most receptive audience. For instance, if you were to write a story in diary entry format about someone going through an exhibitionist experience, I would suggest posting it in the Exhibitionist and Voyeur category, rather than Letters and Transcripts. The readership for the Letters category is very small.

Yea like a sort of encyclopedia?

If it's not a story itself, but rather a sort of "guide" or addendum to be paired with your other stories, I'd probably stick it in Reviews and Essays. I've seen fantasy authors for example use that category to explain some of the terminology and intricate details that is used in their other work on this website.

Thanks! Ill check that out :)

If it has an otherworld base, and it's a narrative, ( which diary entries can easily be ) it will do fine in Sci-Fi&Fantasy. It's a larger readership with a tighter focus than L&T, which can be all over the place.

As to the encyclopedia angle, that too can work in SF&F, but I would recommend establishing the world with some narrative stories first. You need to get the readers invested in the world you've created before you start leading them down the path of the deeper elements of the world-building.

I'd place it in a category based on the subject matter. Logically, it should go in 'Letters and Transcripts' but that's not where most people head when looking for erotica (only six posts in that category since 1st December).

Go and look at Letters and Transcripts and see how many stories there are and how many views they got.

(And while you're there, read mine and maybe even become the sixth person to vote on it since it was published a month ago)

Then go and post your diary in Sci-Fi.
