You have to be 18 to drink alcohol.
And then it must be done on private or licenced premises.

You have to be 18 to buy a packet of smokes.
But you cant smoke in any public building, office, restaurant.

But a 10 year old boy can walk into a shop, buy an aerosol can and some plastic bags, and spend the afternoon chroming,in full public view.
We were at a popular family picnic spot.
5 boys,10 years old at the oldest, swimming in the lake, lazing on inflatable tyres, the picture of innocence.
Until you realised they were smashed out of their heads.

They new we were watching, seemed to enjoy the fact.

When i called the police i was asked what color these kids were.
Like that mattered.

And then was told that it isn't illegal to chrome.

Jesus fucking christ.

Am i the only one that doesn't *get it*?

It shouldn't be illegal. It's stupid, but not criminally so.

What the hell is "chroming"?

I don't believe I've heard the term before, but if I were to hazard a guess,I'd say it's getting high off aerosol fumes.

Chroming.

So anyway,it seems they put these kids into *care* facilities.
Where tax payers money is going to make sure these children are fed, clothed, kept safe from the evils of society.

And decided it's a good idea to let them chrome under supervision?

Puhlease.

Jesus! That is terrible.

*shaking head* What is the world coming to? :(

I've never heard the word chroming...

You know, Mountain Dew should be liable for damages arising from its commercials because I don't recall them telling their impressionable young veiwers that going head up on a Ram will cause you brain damage either!

Stupid is as stupid does. Forest Gump's mom.

Me, I was smart enough not to eat or frequent places that smelled like an ashtray and billowed smoke into the air. I don't like legislating ANY social behavior. I prefer peer pressure, market pressure, education, personal abstinance...

Ah. 'Round here we call it "huffing." I heard "chroming" and thought some punks were getting high sniffing a bumper or something.

It is illegal here, but ya know what? It's in a legal product and it has no effect on the outside population. If they wanna fuck up their brains by sniffing shit to get a buzz, fuck 'em.

Huffing is illegal? Really? It is definitely stupid, but I'm surprised it is illegal.

This is just like glue sniffing. The aromatics do "wonders" for the brain getting high etc. It is also very dangerous and should not be tolerated.

Where do you live? That allows such abusive behaviors in kids.

In Indiana it is, but perhaps only for minors.

When I worked as a cashier, we had to ID check for butane lighters. We couldn't sell them to kids.

In my days, kids used to sniff paint thiner. The stuff will melt your teeth, so all the kids had smiles like Great White. They could give you the true *weg*.

Another bollocks yanking thread, I see.

Hell, when I was a kid and wanted to feel dizzy, disoriented, and sick, all I did was hold my breath until just before I passed out.

Goddamn, I tell ya, kids today always have to find the most complicated ways to do simple things...

Did you do that thing with a baseball bat where you press your forehead onto one end, the other end onto the ground and you run around in cercles, so that after a dozen turns, you'd lose the sense of ballance and you walk diagonal even though you think you are walking straight? That was really fun.

The way I see it, activities like these are natural selection at best. Weeding out the stupid, so to speak.
