When you think about crime, do you think about race?

I have never thought of race when I think about crime. I hate criminals because they are scumbags. Their race never enters into it for me.

I still remember the Willie Horton ad way back in the 1988 election campaign. I saw the picture of Horton and I saw a criminal, his race didn't even occur to me really. I didn't even think about race until the Democrats and the media started claiming it was a secret message to hate blacks from from the Bush campagin.

Crime is one subject to me that has less to do with race than possibly any other.

If you watch the commercials for home intrusion alarms, you would know that crime is only committed by white men.

:nods:

When I see one, I cross the street.

I live in Africa. I do my fair share of stereotyping. However, I worked for an attorney, so I know that middle aged women who live in big houses and drive nice cars can also be nasty criminals. However, they are seldom responsible for violent crime. Although our very own Daisy de Melcker was a serial killer who poisoned her husbands and her son for their insurance money. She was the second white woman to be hanged in South Africa.

So, Sam's manager comes up to Scott and me and demands that we stop staring at Sam's women...

;)

Without missing a beat Scott says, "Then tell Sam to have them put some clothes on."

Depends on how much of a head start I have!:)
