There are thousands around us without power. We got lucky.
Power only flickered on and off a few times. Ticked off the kids because they were trying to unlock a new song in the Dance Dance Revolution game (and there had to be a certain number of songs in a row)- but we were pretty spoiled today.

Sounds fun and those are lovely photos honWoot! They just canceled school again today!
The roads aren't that bad so I have a feeling it is a power outage issue. We are part of a fairly large district (3 high schools, 6 middle schools, 25 elementaries) so if the majority do not have power it would make sense to shut things down.
Yea us! Some house cleaning, some more laundry, some more nap and playtime for mommy and daddy . . .
We can decorate the Christmas tree today!
(I will, however, studiously ignore the Today Show. Ahem.)

Here in the middle of NC it will be 79 today, goofy weatherI hate that.
We only have a one car garage so we knew the cars would get hammered. We covered the windshields with plastic at least but I just peeked outside at 'em. Ugh. They're a solid sheet.
It will take some time, some heated ice scrapers, and some ice melt in a can until we find the vehicles beneath the ice.
Such a pain. We put aside about twenty minutes this morning just to get the cars ready but now there is no rush.

I remember living in Iron Mountain and watching the snow fall on my apple tree when it was in full blossom. We had a foot of snow come down on Mother's day that year. It was beautiful and cold.
