When is it wank fodder?

I don't post here very often anymore, but I still enjoy lurking and reading up on the threads. I find it hard to get through a discussion, when snark runs wild and threads are often derailed by 'regular' posters who claim to have been offended by people asking questions.

So my question is, when is it wank fodder, and when is it a question? Is it the amount of description or the level at which one writes? If you are a repeat offender with nothing to add, why do you even bother posting?

I was guilty of being snarky tonight. I must admit that my snarky posts were clearly not intended to be wank fodeder, but if the OP's that I snarked are way into humiliation, then I imagine my posts could be wank fodder.
