What's your worst habit as a bedmate?

ohhhhh I collect pillows.

I had forgotten about this.

When ever we sleep in a hotel, they have about 4-6 pillows on the bed. If we don't take them off, I wind up with every single one on my side of the bed in a fort. I don't realize I'm doing this until in the morning when I'm surrounded by pillows, and my BF is clutching one pillow for his dear life >.>

I look for my stuffed animals - 4 of them, 2 big and 2 small - when I'm half awake and don't have all of them in my arms or my face. And I do that by roaming my hands all over the bed. Sometimes it can get disturbing.

I want my own covers. I wrap myself in them like a mummy - not at all romantic.

So does Min. And she has pointy elbows.

Me? I snore, I throw covers off cos I get too hot, which means all summer long I have to have the fan on all night, and I wake up a lot and take visits to the bathroom.

On the plus side, I usually fall asleep very quickly, and not even the light on for the wife to read stops me.

As far as she's concerned, my worst bed habit is actually waking her the next morning !! She sleeps like the dead.

I'm rather greedy. Voraciously so. Not sure if that's a bad habit or a good one, though.

I can answer that question.

My worst habit?

After a consultation with the best possible source, I am informed that it is how slowly I wake up... at least, in comparison to how quickly she does...

I hog the covers. I also use a ton of them, when he has only the sheet all year round. I have to have 2 pillows. I have to snuggle every single night for 5 to 10 minutes or it is impossible for me to sleep. After I move to my side, it takes me 45 minutes more until I am ready to sleep... thoughts racing, replaying my day, etc. No wonder once I am out I sleep like the dead. I can sleep thru the alarm, and so far 22 minutes is the longest of that awful beeping sound.

TheeGoatPig, I'll see your tossing and raise you a swirling...

I don't know what type of acrobatic acts I perform while I'm asleep, but I often wake up to find the sheet on the floor and the mattress by my feet.

I fall asleep quickest when I'm in contact with someone else, so I love to lay my head on Fiance's chest. He hates it cos he gets hot easily and, when I fall asleep, he wind up with a dead arm.
I also like a freezing cold room - I mean *arctic*, but then gallons and gallons of fluffy duvets and blankets and a hot water bottle. Even now, in August, I have a hottie most nights, esp when sleeping on my own.

Now if you want *really* irritating bedmate habits, that's the Fiance...

Let's put it thi way, we don;t hare a bed unless it' a *pretty*big one. Anything under 5' is murder for both.

first of all, I take no less than 15 minutes to get comfortable. It's not a habit, it's just my fidgetty nature.

I wish it took me so little time to get comfortable. If I fall asleep in less than an hour I am happily surprised.

I steal the covers so we don't share blankets. Hubby rarely uses them anyway and I envelop myself in 'em.

I hug my fluffy body pillow and snuggle my back against my hubby's warm front. If I'm cold, I keep pressing back against him, sometimes pushing him to the edge of the bed.

Light sleepers, both of us. On a side note, I truly miss solid and dreamless and worry-free sleep.

Like Mils, I have to have lots of covering. A sheet, blanket and comforter at least...all year round. So the temperature in the house is very cold at night.

But I guess my biggest problem is that I am a hugger. I have to be at least spooning with maximum contact. And I also tend to carress my bed partner during my sleep, which may not be a bad thing.

Oh, and I steal pillows...no matter how manner there are. It always seems that my partners pillow is better than mine.

And I have perfected the switcharoo....

If I want to move to the other side of the bed, I move on top of my partner. Then roll with her so we change sides.

LOLOL

A couple of things.

First off I'm a very light sleeper. The slightest noise out of the ordinary wakes me. I'm up and checking to see what woke me. Thankfully I can fall asleep easily so I'm quickly back to Snoozeville.

The second is when it's warm I hate things on me. I'll push the blanket and sheet off me so only a corner of the sheet is over my hips. I can sleep in temps over 90° but I have to have just that corner over my hips. (We keep the place at 80° during the summer.) Just give me a fan to keep the air moving and I'm happy.

The third is when it's chilly. My body doesn't know how to deal with those in between temps. Either I'm freezing or I'm sweating which means I'm going to freeze. When it's downright cold I'm okay but not when it's mildly chilly.

I have a couple. I am deaf in one ear so if I happen to be lying on that side when the alarm goes off it wont wake me up...it may take me 20 or 30 minutes to roll over and realize it is going off. Thankfully, I tend to wake up on my own within 5 or 10 minutes of the alarm time (usually before) so I rarely oversleep.

Next thing, like most guys, Im always hot. My girlfriend calls me an oven. If I had my way, my bedroom would be like 65 along with both a ceiling fan and an oscillating fan. As it is, I have 1 osc fan pointed right at the bed turned on high all night.

One thing I noticed running through the thread is that women tend to be cold all the time and men hot all the time. Every woman I have ever been with would be chilly while I was burning up. I would imagine its something physical but can someone explain the details?

I can answer that question.
You're biased.

My worst habit?

It is FAR easier to wake you in person than it is to do so from 3 time zones away by simply sending super-wake-up-thoughts across the country, though. :D

Soon.

It's now 4 AM, and I'm off to bed. Unusually early.

night, litizens

I dunno for sure. But, based on what are the most common things I have heard through the years, it comes down to three things--my allergies tend to make me snore, my personal body temp is always on overdrive so that I run a fan across the bed even in the dead of winter (and it has to be really really cold for me to sleep under the covers), and I almost always sleep with my socks on.

Yes - unless full of good liquor or painkillers - both of which should be used in moderation.

Usually I can't hear myself snore but sometimes as I'm waking up I can.

Og

I dated a woman who did that once. It was a nightmare :(

You'd wake in the night freezing cold with no way of getting the sheets back, because she'd mummified herself...

Well, actually, last time around I tried to be reality-based and proactive - I just had my own set of blankies.

I also have Restless Leg syndrome which also manifests itself in my arms. Quite often being touched, especially a very light touch, sets it off.

I have to have my feet covered and the tops of my hands can't be exposed.

I can answer questions in my sleep well enough that my bed mates don't always realize I am not awake.

I forgot... I wake up like a light switch and when I fall asleep I fall asleep that way too. I don't mind snuggling but I am not a snooze alarm person at all. I like morning sex. :)

I have entire conversations with dead people while I sleep. I sometimes scream. I get up and take walks.

And then there are the nights I have nightmares.

I have to sleep on my tummy and rub the top of my feet on the mattress. Then the room has to be cold, but I need lots of down covers (in Phoenix, no less). I like to be cuddled, but it's been a long time since anyone did... sigh.

I don't usually remember dreams.

I sleep hard.

I hate mornings. (no morning sex, please)

-I fall asleep very quickly - usually.

-I fall asleep even quicker if I'm spooning the wife.

-I am obsessive about the sheets - no wrinkles or creases! It drives me insane.

-Bedding has to be cotton, so it has the best chance of staying cool, as I overheat very quickly (whoever it was who said women are always chilly - just wait until you sleep with someone going through the menopause!! We are NEVER cold.)

-If I try and read in bed, I usually manage half a page and I fall asleep.

-I have to go through a regular routine. Pee, wash hands and face, clean teeth, take meds, set alarm, sip water, check sheets are straight and crease free - then I can get into bed. Sad, innit??

hmmm either the hubby is being diplomatic today or I really don't have any bad habits in the bed.

He says 'You turn down the bed covers when you get in. '

I think I toss at night and sometimes i have to have 3 or 4 pillows to sleep on which pulls the covers in strange places.

Now he the darling man...

His feet chase you in the night with his toes scratching at your legs.

He will wrap himself in the covers and leave you a little edge to hold on to.

He sometimes snores in this strange way...starts with normal I'm a bear snore and has this putt putt putt sound in the middle followed by a long whoosh. Then it starts at the beginning again. I find my self sometimes annoyed I can't get back to sleep and sometimes laughing my ass off over it. :D
