What's your take on the various types of incest?

I get that. I haven't let my mind do it. I don't even want to. An unwelcomed thought could come or a need to avert the eyes in some situation, but I sometimes wonder what happens to the mind when one does. Does that set a person onto a path that is not good in the end or does it simply heigten the taboo and make you harder. ....or softer.

Probably depends on the person.

Over time I'd say most people who have reached out to me to discuss stories or taboo in general know the line between fantasy and reality. Some have admitted to a crush of sorts on a sibling, or a mom/dad complex, but nothing that would lead to some type of action.

But there's a small percentage of the type to e-mail me with the 'reminds me of when I fucked my-fill in the blank-I generally think they're blowing smoke, or maybe I want to because some of these 'events' are not all consensual. Hazard of writing in the genre I suppose. Its the we get all kinds...

This is a hard "Hell no!" And this is true of ALL incest for me. It's not something that I actually ever fantasize about in a real way. I have no interest in relatives. It's an area where for me there's a hard and clear separation between literary fantasy and real fantasy. I like the naughty taboo aspect of incest, but only in a purely fictional sense. As I look back on my early life I realize the extent to which I grew up with a strong sense of inhibition, so exploring taboo stories is a way of dealing with and breaking free of that.

I'd be curious whether authors who frequently write brother/sister romance have opposite sex siblings of similar age.

I don't, for example, so there is no real life connection for me to the few bro/sis stories I've written. They basically feel like romances between people who happen to share a living situation that involves evading their nosy roommates who may put a damper on their sexy times (also known as parents).

I have no blood siblings, but spent time in a foster home with a girl a little older than me. We were together three years and a year and a half into it we referred to each other as brother and sister and one night she seduced me down to whispering things like "How does your big sister look...." and my taboo bug was born.

She's still in my life today, but we stopped the sexual stuff way back in our late teens but see each other as much brother and sister as if we were blood and our kids refer to us as uncle and auntie. Once in a geat while one of us might bring our weird psuedo taboo relationship up, but only in a "Can you believe we..." way

But I still have a thing for sibcest and its my favorite topic to read and write.

Personally, I struggle a bit more with the incest within the nuclear family. Not saying it can't be hot, I've read a couple of good stories on here about brothers and sisters hooking up, but I tend to like a degree of separation. Cousins, uncle/aunt and niece/nephew, adopted family, step-whatever and the likes just so it feels a little less weird.

And I'm sure part of that is that I've never seen my mother or sister as attractive in that way, and most all of my cousins are dudes, which isn't my cup of tea.

I'm working on a story right now that is a guy with his step-daughter and niece, with the girls initiating the whole thing.

We were two very broken teens that had already been through hell and back. The attraction was about needing someone and having the line between love/lust and family blurred. We're both happily married with kids and have a normal sibling relationship even though again, we're not blood, but at this point been in each other's lives for 40+ years. We've both had some rocky times and been there for each other every step of it, but sex was never part of it after those couple of years.

I wrote a long taboo series, Siblings with Benefits, and some of what transpires in the flashbacks to their youth are based on real events, but aged up a bit to suit lit.

I have only glanced through some of the responses on here. But it seems to me that most of the authors here are at least somewhat disconnected from the folks over on the threads, who are a much more open-minded and adventurous than some of these responses might indicate, and possibly some of their potential audiences. Of course, all of you authors should, as always, write what you want to and are comfortable with.

I'm personally not too keen on parent-child relationships, even though my highest rated and most widely read story involves a threesome involving a mother, son, and daughter; but writing about that was very weird for me. To the point where I established clear boundaries in the story itself.

As the daughter of a hardworking single dad, I could never bring myself to write a story involving a Father/Daughter relationship because whenever I think of a father, I think of my dad. He bent over backwards to make sure me and him had food on the table growing up since my mom skipped town on the both of us when I was just three years old.

Grandparent-Grandchild stories are just.....too eww for me.

Whenever I do write I/T stories, I usually go for Brother-Sister or Cousins since there isn't a terribly big power dynamic involved with those types of relationships.

No degree of fictional incest grosses me out, as for me open-mindedness is kind of the point of I/T. All that matters is execution in my book. Sell me on the relationship, the tension, and the promise of release? I’m in.

That said, the reality is the father-daughter tale is a tough tightrope to walk convincingly or satisfyingly. The power dynamic is so loaded. Preconceived notions of how fathers and daughters “should” act are tricky to play with as it is, but then working eroticism into that challenge only heightens it all the more thanks to how inherently polarized these two gender roles are (male authority figure vs female subordinate).

Long story short: maybe it’s coincidence or maybe it’s not, but the incest coupling you like least is also the one that’s rarest to see done well.

I understand people's concerns about the inherent power dynamic making it hard for them to enjoy this kink, but in the world of fiction this is relatively easy to deal with. Just create a relationship where, within the bounds of that particular relationship, the power dynamic isn't a problem.

For instance, in a mom-son story, make the child, the son, the aggressor. Make mom more passive and resistant.

In a father-daughter story, make the daughter the aggressor, pursuing and teasing her dad until he can't resist. I agree that if the story is about dad trying to get daughter into bed it's much more difficult to avoid the ick or creep factor (which is not to shame those who are into that sort of thing).

In general, make the character that normally would be on the bottom of the power dynamic a character full of agency, initiative, and intelligence. That way they don't seem like a victim. Put them in circumstances where they are not beholden to the seemingly more powerful person in the relationship.

It may not seem realistic to you, but in erotica realism is not the goal, verisimilitude is. It's irrelevant whether your story corresponds accurately with the real world; it only has to seem realistic within the terms of its own fictional world.

I wouldn't go that far. It's still incest, and from the reader's point of view there will still be some of that kinky appeal. There are also some people that enjoy reading stories about worlds where taboos have been lifted. Like a world or society where everybody's naked. But that sort of story usually is more enjoyable when you have someone visiting that world who is new to the perspective.

A story where a mom and son travel together on a spaceship to a world where moms and sons get it on together all the time could be a lot of fun. (don't add a number--I'm not suggesting I'm putting it on my list of stories to write).

Personally, my one big no no is anything non-consensual. NO MEANS NO, in my stories and I could never write anything that had any hints of predatory behavior.

The characters I'm imagining are imaginary characters. When I write incest stories I don't think of people I know. I've written a lot of incest stories and I don't ever think that way. It's pure fiction.
