What's worse: crazy people with guns, or scared people with guns?

Scared people, simply because there are more of them. More opportunities for needless, unjustified shootings, and injured innocents.

Recently, L.A. cops shot up two trucks because they matched the description of murderer Dorner's vehicle. They didn't investigate or question - they just shot. They were cops, but it didn't matter; they were scared, and fear took over. They were trained to handle weapons and for handling situations where weapons might be necessary to use, and they still fucked up. It's not the first time it's happened, and it won't be the last.

The NRA right-fringe wants to convince us that the U.S. would be a safer place if everyone without a criminal record (and a few other parameters) was allowed to carry a gun on their person. They paint a picture where law-abiding citizens who simply want to protect themselves and their families are expert shots and evaluate dangerous situations to perfection.

But how many trucks do you think would've been shot up in L.A. if the right-fringe's vision was the reality, and Dorner had made a manifesto specifically targeting citizens? Give me a number.

The Pistorius story is a prime example of what fear does as well.

Look who they got their training from? The government.
Had they gotten their training from freedom loving patriots they would know how to handle themselves in this situation.

In any case I'm sure their jobs are union protected and they'll be free to misuse their government issued guns on other private citizens.

If the account is true, yes.

This is officially the most hilarious attempt at political spin I've ever read in one of my threads. And it's not even parody. :D

Simple question laugh boy. The cops that shot at the wrong men, are they still drawing their salary from the taxpayer?

Many self-proclaimed "freedom-loving patriots" seem to have issues with grammar, reading, racism, sexism, homophobia, and xenophobia.

I'd take training provided by the government over their training any day - as most intelligent people would.

Not so easy to defend, eh?

Over 300 million weapons...

...in the possession of around 100 million Americans - legally.

Be afraid, lemmings and government...

...be very afraid.

If people with a criminal record are not allowed to own a gun, wouldn't that make them an easy victim of people who don't have a criminal record, yet.

Hardly seems fair.

Your examples total less than 100 people in a year, and exist within a framework not described in my premise.

Now I know why you didn't back up your case in your first post. It's flimsy.

And who doez we hire as instructors for the most elite government weapons training?

Survey sayz.........................CIVILIAN CONTRACTOR!!!LMFAO!!!!

Overwhelming number of top shooters and gun slingers in the world?

Survey sayz.......................CIVILIANS!!!

You really don't know what the fuck you are talking about do you Rory?

Scared? Crazy? or just taking care of his shit? Oh, and a lousy shot.

State Senator R.C. Soles (D - NC)
Long time Anti-Gun Advocate State Senator R.C. Soles, 74, shot one of two intruders at his home just outside Tabor City , N.C. about 5 p.m. Sunday, the prosecutor for the politician's home county said.

The intruder, Kyle Blackburn, was taken to a South Carolina hospital, but the injuries were not reported to be life-threatening, according to Rex Gore, district attorney for Columbus, Bladen and Brunswick counties..

The State Bureau of Investigation and Columbus County Sheriff's Department are investigating the shooting, Gore said. Soles, who was not arrested, declined to discuss the incident Sunday evening.

"I am not in a position to talk to you," Soles said by telephone. "I'm right in the middle of an investigation."

The Senator, who has made a career of being against gun ownership for the general public, didn't hesitate to defend himself with his own gun when he believed he was in immediate danger and he was the victim.

In typical hypocritical liberal fashion, the "Do as I say and not as I do" Anti-Gun Activist Lawmaker picked up his gun and took action in what apparently was a self-defense shooting.

Why hypocritical you may ask? It is because his long legislative record shows that the actions that he took to protect his family, his own response to a dangerous life threatening situation, are actions that he feels ordinary citizens should not have if they were faced with an identical situation.

It has prompted some to ask if the Senator believes his life and personal safety is more valuable than yours or mine. But, this is to be expected from those who believe they can run our lives, raise our kids, and protect our families better than we can.

What is even worse is affirmative action racists terrified that the people who they want to stomp the rights out of might gather together and round them up and fucking shot them in the same manner that they treated King George's loyal foot soldiers who came to disarm them...

You really need to find a life to focus on Rory...

"A man is likely to mind his own business when it is worth minding. When it is not, he takes his mind off his own meaningless affairs by minding other people's business."
Eric Hoffer

That is why you are so focused on pop culture and the lives and thoughts of other people.

Orwell wrote a book detailing the logical outcome of dreamers such as yourself.

That was just . . . cruel.

You know he has self-esteem "issues".

I am

It is nice to know that I terrify Rory...

Ghosts through~ stalks 4est and Wat, answers Rory's original query.

I worry about anyone with a gun that isn't me.

WHY?

Reasons as follows~

I know that I have learned how to safely aim and shoot, hit what I aim for, (at a reasonable distance) and break down, clean and put away my LEGALLY bought and paid for 12 gauge, 10 gauge, 7 mm rifle, and 380.

I know who trained me (my grandfather, my step dad, hunter's safety courses) and where I keep my guns when not in use. I don'y have the information for anyone else...and wouldn't trust them as far as I can throw them~ even if I did have their info. Therefore judging by the instances shown in this thread alone~ either everyone should be allowed reasonable access to firearms provided they can meet the government's laws concerning firearm purchase etc or no one should.

(However I will go on record as stating that I worry more about a terrified person with a gun than I do about a crazy one.)

That's MY 2 cents your mileage may vary.

Ghosts out again.

*pats Luna's ass*

Okay, off to the stimulus. Wat ain't quite up to snuff today, but it'll all work out.
